to take ds (2yrs 9 mths) to his preschool-friend's bday party?

Ds has been poorly for over a week - spiking temps of 40° but otherwise no other symptoms until Wednesday when he was quite poorly - today he woke up seeming much better - no need for school so far and temps stayed fine all day.

Dfiance thinks ds should stay in all weekend we have cancelled fireworks tonight but he seems fine for 2 hours at soft play with me 5 mins away from home and I think he would enjoy it - there is another bday party tomorrow at the leisure centre.

Df said he should stay home but if I insist I can take him but on my head be it etc.

So wibu to take ds to the party starting at 4? I have held off texting the bday boy's mum.

I don't know really. Are you sure it won't knacker him out too much?

crankbadger · 02/11/2013 14:57

I'd go, if he's been fine since then and nothing to suggest chickenpox, norovirus, measles etc, which I think are the really unfair ones to pass around. It's not as though soft play/kids parties aren't one big viral soup anyway at this time of year.

If his temp has gone down and he seems better, he probably isn't contagious, and it sounds like just a nasty virus anyway.

If the party is only 5 mins from home, you could always go and leave early if he is tired or feeling poorly.

worra - that's my main concern - if it were the leisure centre party it might be better as it is a more chilled location - this is a soft play attached to a pub - and I would feel bad to take him to the party tomorrow after cancelling today.

He does seem to have bounced back - and has been stuck in for days.

will feel guilty whatever I do!

He started looking tired and pasty in the end so we stayed home - maybe tomorrow's party then.
