Apparently, she loves me 'just the same' as Miss Honey from Matilda. Not more, just the same (and I get the impression she was only saying 'the same' to make me feel better)

AIBU to hide the DVD until she remembers where her loyalties lie?! Grin

YABU because it could be worse!-mine loves nanny Plum more than me and she's not even that nice!

Calloh · 01/11/2013 20:01

Granny Murray! Purple Granny Murray! That would be a step too far. Grin

I am not thought fit to even impersonate Captain Barnacles but I am considered of about equal lovability as Prof Inkling. Ie verbose and largely irrelevant.

Lariflete · 01/11/2013 21:34

Sleepyhead33 your DD had DH and I howling with laughter!!
Mine doesn't love tv characters more than me, but she does want to live at nursery Sad because 'Mummy's drawings of dinosaurs are rubbish' Grin - I can't even argue that one, cos they are!

SteamWisher · 01/11/2013 21:35

Granny Murray?!!!!

PMSL, my kids would be out of the door if they said granny Murray was equal to me Grin

YABU Jenny Honey is perhaps the ultimate woman. You should be honoured to be mentioned in the same sentence as her

MiconiumHappens · 01/11/2013 21:39

TooOldForGlitter · 01/11/2013 21:40

My DD told me she loved the dog 'just a bit' more than me today. She isn't even a titchy sweet little 5 yo she's nearly 11!

RachelBerry · 01/11/2013 21:41

Ha ha, brilliant about Nanny Plum.

You're all right. I'm lucky to be even considered an equal, bloody Miss Honey. How can I ever compete??

TooOld that's hilarious! Although good. I always start to shift a but uncomfortably when my children bring up dog life expectancy. I love our dog so so much but he is a bit grumpy and ancient and considers the children minor irritations when they are not surreptitiously feeding him their own supper.

However they don't see his loyalty (he doesn't let other dogs near them) or his sense of humour (he swings their bicycle helmets away from them,if he's feeling skittish runs off with shoes etc) they just want a shiny new puppy and their treachery kills me. How, how could they be so shallow?
