To not believe what happened last night and think my baby is g&t

Ds is 3 months old. Has a fairly good routine recently of going to bed at 10ish with us and waking up at 5ish for a feed then up at 8.

Last night we went to bed around 10 as normal. He woke up and I checked my phone and it said 5.10. I assumed my phone hadn't automatically gone back an hour but dh woke up and I checked with him as he'd changed his watch the night before. It was right. The old time was 6.10 so my genius baby had slept an extra hour for the clocks going back!

He then woke up at 8 new time!

Have I got some freakily clever baby who sensed the clocks going back and decided to allow his parents to have the extra hour?

(don't really believe this but still amazing coincidence! We'll see how tomorrow goes!)

Oh definitely a super intelligent child. I bet he also knew that you would effectively be keeping him up for another hour tonight so was catching up on sleep in advance Wink.

My 2 year old dd is also g&t or at least extremely considerate for a toddler. Despit usually waking at about 5:45 and 5am yesterday, she slept till old 6:30 this morning.

What wonderful children we have Grin

It was supposed to be lighthearted! I don't really believe he knew the clocks were changing maybe a little bit

I'm expecting to be punished for my smugness by a growth spurt that entails him waking every hour (we've had a few of those!)

I like the idea of him growing up to be a timelord!

My youngest did this one year, but her sleep pattern actually shifted by 3 hours. She would wake up at 5 on the dot every morning so come the autumn clock change i started to panic at the prospect of a 4am alarm call every morning.
Amazingly, the next morning she woke at 7 and continued to do so from then on. Bizarre!!!

Oh yes buzzard I knew yours was a joke. It did make me laugh! It was the ''erm yes congratulations' I wasn't sure about.

Ooh flaming that sounds good. I wouldn't mind that change in routine!

My baby did similar! She usually wakes up around 7ish and did the same this morning so I thought it must now be 6, but my phone had changed automatically so it was really 8, but now 7. Does that make sense?! Either way she slept an extra hour!

Cogitosum - if your baby is gifted and talented I don't know what mine is.

8 week old DS has gone from sleeping 7 hours and then a further 3 hours over the last week to last night when he woke at midnight, 2am, 3.30 and was awake until 5.30am and then woke again at 730am! This was our reward for spending the day helping my Mum clean and sort the house she moved into on Friday!

DD (21 mo) is normally up at 5 for a feed then 6:30 for the day. This morning she woke up at 4 for a feed, then slept till 8:10 new time! she did stay up till 9 watching X-factor

My toddler was also a sleep genius last night. Usually up by 7 every morning but this morning slept soundly til 8.30 (old time so 7.30) !! We were amazed. Saying that it's taken her pretty much a whole 18 months to get a grip of this sleeping all night business so well overdue.

I am clearly thick as pigshit.

I went to bed at 12.15 (so 11.15 to account for extra hour). Then woke up at 7 fucking 50. Stupid clocks.

DS did the same last night. 5 weeks old and just slept for 5 hours for the first time! How considerate of him Smile
