I just don't like it so I have asked her to kiss me slightly to one side of the mouth. How does everybody else go about this please ?TYIA

Totally down to the individual I reckon, not that this helps. My DM kisses me on the cheek, my DDad always proffers his bald spot for a kiss. We are a huggy family but not a kissy one iyswim! I was a bit freaked out when both DFIL and DSMIL proffered puckered up lips for a kiss once we'd gotten to know each other, but don't mind it (much, shudder) now, have got used to it. Rather than the socially awkward thing of refusing, maybe a way of overcoming it is by giving a massive smacker on the cheek as they are moving in for a kiss, would dissipate tension and anxiety?

My Dp does this with his Dm & grown up kids (in their 20s) I find it weird

Maybe you could eat something really smelly before she does it & it might put her off Grin

Thank you for sharing your kissing habits with your family members ,i find it very fascinating indeed .My grandmother used to hate being kissed but we would be allowed to peck her on the cheek.
I have a friend who is in his forties and I saw him kiss his dad the other day it was cheek to cheek obviously.I don't think it is very common for a father to kiss his grown up son like that in public.

My Dad does this and I have mixed feelings - on the one hand I think lips kisses are for partners and children only. On the other hand, I am his child! Albeit a grown up one! I've decided just to accept it!

I wouldn't like it. I don't like being kissed on the lips by anyone.

Thankfully my mother is the same. Worse. She can barely tolerate a hug. Grin I think if she lost her senses and came at me all puckered up I'd take preventative action by sticking my tongue out. That's stop her. Have you considered that? Grin
