Had my hand in a pint glass and it decided to spontaneously shatter.

five sodding stitches.

Oooow. Sad Thanks

Allthebees · 20/10/2013 12:32

We had 3 months with no dishwasher and whilst I know it's a fairly spoilt brat first world problem it was horrific.

Aside from the perilous dangers, it was a complete ball ache and I felt I was CONSTANTLY washing up.

Hope your hand gets better ASAP and you get a dishwasher even sooner!

PrimalLass · 20/10/2013 12:34

Use ao.com. They do next day delivery.

Strumpetron · 20/10/2013 12:35

We had one but when we moved in our new apartment there's just no room. I have decided I will forfeit a cupboard. It serves me right for attempting to do the dishes at 1am because I was being lazy after tea....

ahh thankyou PrimalLass!

That link should have come with a serious warning! Bloody hell!

I'd love a dishwasher because I AM the dishwasher. I decided that when me and the kids moved to our own place we'd have one, but bugger me there isn't the room or plumbing for one, plus I'm renting so what's a girl to do?

Heymacarena · 20/10/2013 12:40

Yowsers OP! that looks dreadful.

Yes, get a dishwasher - immediately.

I hadn't had one until I moved in with DH- and managed fine, but now I wouldn't be without.

I don't think you have to spend a lot, a fairly basic model will do the job. Have you got space for one?

FortyDoorsToNowhere · 20/10/2013 12:42

Hope your hand gets better soon.

Get a dishwasher as compensation

iklboo · 20/10/2013 12:43

I've always resisted a dishwasher as there's only the three of us & I wash up as I go along. We're shortly moving to a house with an integral dishwasher. I suspect I will be on my knees hugging it by the end of the first week Grin.

Strumpetron · 20/10/2013 12:43

heartbroken I just assumed people would know it's not going to be pretty from the 'five stiches' thing ha.

HeyMacarena I have a rather large cupboard that I don't use except to stuff crap in, I'm thinking if we take that out it should fit. Do they do slimline ones do you know?

OP posts:
Strumpetron · 20/10/2013 12:43

Thanks everyone

That should have been warning enough shouldn't it really? I think I just assumed it would be an 'after' picture!

And yet, the 'I've-gotta-see' side of me still went 'yeah, click it, click it, click it'.

bluebell234 · 20/10/2013 12:45

owww, get well soon Strumpetron! :(

Pigsmummy · 20/10/2013 12:48

Oh no!! Poor you. Are in South East? I have a dishwasher for sale, could bring it around this afternoon. If not Argos are good.

Strumpetron · 20/10/2013 12:49

Thankyou for the offer that's lovely of you, but in the north west unfortunately! Hope you sell it soon

I'm more peed off about being on anit-biotics. I don't do well with those things

We changed from a normal size dishwasher to a slimline earlier this year ,it was a cheap one from currys and it is much better than my last much more expensive dishwasher .

IfYouLoveSomebodyLetThemSleep · 20/10/2013 12:51

I haven't had a dishwasher for 8+ years and I've got by fine! don't know what you're all moaning about!

That does look nasty though OP Flowers make it sound more interesting and tell everyone a shark bit you.

Strumpetron · 20/10/2013 12:53

ifyoulove I've always been okayish but I'm terribly clumsy and heavy handed, often end up breaking things and hurting myself. What sort of person can't even do the bloody dishes properly Blush

I like the shark bite idea. I may flounce it up a bit and say I was saving a puppy.

SharpLily · 20/10/2013 12:55

You are not being at all unreasonable. Husband resisted the dishwasher idea for quite some time - it's an easy stand to take when you're not the one doing the dishes. The thing is, I cook quite a lot so even with just the two of us I was spending over an hour per day, every day, washing up. Who the hell HASN'T got better things to do with their time?! Not to mention the amount of plates, glasses etc. that got broken. I'm grateful for my dishwasher every day and think being expected to live without one borders on abuse, frankly. Nope, not a drama queen at all Wink.

DameFannyGallopsAtAGhost · 20/10/2013 13:10

I'm impressed you got a photo for us before you even went to hospital Grin

If you're prone to hurting yourself, can I suggest you get a dishwasher at waist height so you don't trip and impale yourself on a wrongly placed knife?

Strumpetron · 20/10/2013 13:12

exactly sharp DP says we don't need one but I think now he'll be willing to go halves ha.

dame I was bored sat in the hospital from 1am-3am so I got snap happy! What a night to have to go to hospital, full of drunks. One woman kept laughing manically and falling out of her wheelchair, baring all her arse.

I wouldn't be without my dishwasher. AO.online are good.

MollyMango · 20/10/2013 13:14

OMG you should put a warning on that photo - I am not good with cuts and I literally almost fell off my chair ...

Anyway, yes, I agree though - although I don't use the dishwasher as it's only me atm when I have to feed more people it's very useful

Strumpetron · 20/10/2013 13:21

Sorry about that mollymango

OP posts:
MollyMango · 20/10/2013 13:27

I do hope it's alright though
