I recently got told on a thread that my nickname suggests I wouldn't offer sympathy to fellow MNers. How do you think people perceive your name as reflecting your posting style, and do you think I should change mine?

OP posts:
BigOrangePumpkin · 20/10/2013 22:38

That I'm a fat woman with a tan. And I am neither. Not that there is anything wrong with either of those things Grin

AndIFeedEmGunpowder · 20/10/2013 22:40

Aah thank you! Didn't know if the capitals were a mumsnet 'thing'

(Or in fact if it was another pun that I was too thick to get.)

Howsuper · 20/10/2013 22:57

Absolutely nothing whatsover (am very long term Mnetter with a recent namechnage - last name was made in haste in 2008 and did me no favours)

Broodymomma · 20/10/2013 22:59

That despite years of Ivf my longed for second baby was never to be. Must change this username now as our new adopted angle arrives next week. From broodymomma to happymomma

SirChenjin · 20/10/2013 23:00

Ahhh - that's fantastic news Broody!! Smile

AliaTheEvilLeaper · 20/10/2013 23:01

That I'm a sci fi geek and love the progamme that my namesake appears in. Smile
Anyone else know where it's from and who I am?! No googling lol

FannyFifer · 20/10/2013 23:02

That I'm from Fife and I'm a fanny. Grin

sausageandorangepickle · 20/10/2013 23:02

That I like weird food combinations?

Actually it is partly baby nn's of 2 of my DC and the 'orange' was added in for a campaign on here re childhood cancer, and never got taken out again.

DorothyMantooth · 20/10/2013 23:06

That's lovely Broody, congratulations!

LiegeAndLief · 20/10/2013 23:06

Oh! Metella est mater, was the dad called Caecilius? Having terrifying flash back to Latin lessons I had very much forgotten.

Mine will probably tell you that I like Fairport Convention a lot, but only if you do too.

TooTabooToBOOOOO · 20/10/2013 23:07

I've no idea what people think when they see my NN.

I don't even know what it means. I do like the sound and flow of it though.

YoniTime · 20/10/2013 23:08

That I was once trendy but then couldn't be bothered to change name into something currently trendy.

Mummyoftheyear · 20/10/2013 23:08

Broody , that's lovely. Xxx

BlingBang · 20/10/2013 23:11

Interesting - so what does my name mean to other posters?

Name change so this is just one of many and is a quote from the main character in a more I liked. The way he says it just made me LOL.

BlingBang · 20/10/2013 23:12

In a 'movie'.

Nessalina · 20/10/2013 23:14

Not too sure what people think of mine? Perhaps that I'm a teensy Scottish monster?
It's actually a name I made up for my main World of Warcraft character. So there, I'm a massive geek! Wink
It's a name that does everything I like in a girls name actually, it's unusual, feminine, and has nice nicknames (ness, nessa)! Unfortunately as it will forever be to me the name of an ass-kicking frost Mage, I doubt I'd use it for a babe of my own (should I be lucky enough to have one), but anyone else is welcome to it! Wink

GinFirstQuestionsLater · 20/10/2013 23:14

That I have my priorities right?

Nombrechanger · 20/10/2013 23:34

That I am Spanish and change my name a lot. I am not Spanish and I don't change my name a lot.

Dawndonnaagain · 21/10/2013 01:14

Name in Spanish is llamo!

ICanSeeTheSeaFromHere · 21/10/2013 01:57

That I have a sea view... not exactly inventive!

'Name' in Spanish is 'nombre', 'I call myself' is 'me llamo'.

Anyhoo, I guess my name shows I'm Spanish and a bit lost. And sweary. (El quinto coño = the fifth cunt = the middle of nowhere/the back of beyond). Coño doesn't have the same caché in Spanish as cunt does in English, more like 'fuck'.

I like the sound and flow of it. I'm not Spanish. I swear a bit - although have stopped recently once DS started to parrot 'oh bollocks' back to me from another room Blush
