...to wonder why the Cardiff Blues rugby team play in pink?

Don't get me wrong - I think it is a fine colour, and there is nothing wrong with a bunch of yummy burly rugby players wearing it, but it seems logical that a team called the Blues would wear a blue strip?

Anyhow - I am going to enjoy my lunch and the Cardiff Pinks Blues v Toulon match. Grin

I think it's their "away" strip. I love it, really bright colour.

They wear pink for the Heineken cup tournament matches we are having a dreadful season so far glad I didn't go this afternoon!

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 19/10/2013 14:36

I was wrong, it's their European kit.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 19/10/2013 14:39

Thank-you, OldLady. And you are right - it is a great colour!

I am watching the match about half an hour or so behind - I'll catch up a bit at half time. It's start dwell for Cardiff - that was an amazing kick from Patchell.

Yup thats the one! I thought it was quite clever.

One of the men we sat next to for the Zebre game told my daughter to look for the new kit flashmob in Cardiff and he winked at me and told me to look for that clip!

Navidi is also a damn fine player and I love his hair - shallow I know!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 19/10/2013 16:18

Not shallow at all - he is a fine, fine figure of a man!!

Dragging myself back to the rugby, it was a good result in the Cardiff match.

Another thing struck me as odd, though - the fact that the all-weather artificial pitch meant that no-one got plastered with mud, despite the pouring rain. That just feels wrong, for rugby - though I am sure the person who washes the kit is happy!

Its feels strange as well, at the end of the game they encourage the crowd tp go onto the pitch something to do with helping it to bed in properly.

Im still quite stunned that we beat Toulon!

AlpacaPicnic · 19/10/2013 17:56

I'm so pleased for the Blues, they have had a bad run recently.
I also adore Leigh Halfpenny - such a lovely boy, he looks like he'd be nice to get to know.

But I'm sad for my other team, Saracens, who lost by one teeny point last night. Poor little Owen Farrell looked so despondent :-(

AlpacaPicnic · 19/10/2013 17:58

Exeter Chiefs and Stade Francais also play in hawt pink, I think!

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 19/10/2013 17:58

just back from a walk in Bute park , loved listening to the roar of the crowd :)

FudgeyCookie · 19/10/2013 20:00

Alpaca Chiefs got a new euro kit this season - was only pink last season sadly! My favourite player from the Chiefs looked great in a pink kit! ;)
