I know you're going to say AIBU...some of you will act outraged that I don't think it's "normal" to fart in front of your oh. But think it's disgusting.

Dh's STINK and I have lost count of the times I have asked him to do it in another room...he never frigging does.

I'm in the dining room on the comp. he's in the sitting room watchingrtv...he came in, made a drink, farted and left! I told him off
WHY????? DOES HE DO THIS???

It's ranker than rank! I think people should do it in the toilet because it's related to shitting...in fact it is the brother of shitting....a fart is the SOUL of a shit expired prior to the actual shit....and they all belong in the TOILET AIBU???

Gamer HE does most of the cooking! I don't feed him...he's not a dog for fucks sake!

Farting - go to the toilet is the shout in this house.

Nothing funnier than a miss placed fart though.

I use my ponytail like a filter and breathe through that til the fart gas dissipates. The noises are funny. The smell can be avoided!

Bettercallsaul1 · 18/10/2013 23:27

I'm with you completely on this, OP, but attitudes seem to be changing. The wind of change, perhaps?

nickelbabe · 18/10/2013 23:27

no, not with smiles, but if it's a really smelly one, we laugh raucously and waft the smell away violently.

that's just what families do

it sounds like, if he's coming in getting a drink and farting there, that he's doing it deliberately because he knows it bugs you - ie: he doesn't actually realise that you are offended by it, but thinks it's normal to find it funny (like most of use do)

My dad used to like to leave a little silent present behind in lifts. Grin

We fart constantly. But we always say excuse me - just to be polite.

Dp once dropped a SBD in an Animé shop where some people were playing tabletop role playing games and then walked away leaving me with the smell and the accusing looks. The twat.

ICameOnTheJitney · 18/10/2013 23:32

What can I DO? I'm too sensitive! I must be being unreasonable then. Bah.

Slightly disturbed that Gobby appears to have taken me for someone else! Gobby...if you're here still, please explain where and when I offended you. I've only been using this name for a short time and haven;t had TIME t offend anyone.

Listen to this, too good to miss, da da da da da DAH

...Is the intro of choice in our home. Farts are funny.

YouTheCat · 18/10/2013 23:36

Dh willing pulls my finger - the mad fool! Grin

GobbySadcase · 18/10/2013 23:36

It was either a benefits or kids who have SN thread. It's late and I'm squiffy tired to take a look back tbh.

fortyplus · 18/10/2013 23:38

Accidental farts in front of other people are funny - and should be followed by an apology. Deliberate release of a stinky fart is just ignorant. I'd like to carry out a study on the correlation between public farting and tattoos Wink

Supergeek · 18/10/2013 23:39

Burps are worse than farts IMO. Burps smell of vomit. Which makes me gag. Smelling farts doesn't make me need to shit. So burps are worse, defo.

ICameOnTheJitney · 18/10/2013 23:39

Gobby you have made a mistake. You won't find me being horrible to people with children who have SN, my DD has Aspergers. I never judge people on benefits.

Monty27 · 18/10/2013 23:39

Don't know who the op is it seems you all do.

I cannot stand people farting, particularly smelly, loudly and deliberately. It's unsociable and incredibly rude imho.

YANBU

fortyplus · 18/10/2013 23:40

AlexReidsLonelyBraincell how many tattoos in your family? Hundreds I bet. Oh and are your kids called Wayne & Waynetta? Grin

UnicornsNotRiddenByGrownUps · 18/10/2013 23:41

What? YABU. Farts are funny and you need to lighten up. Why not get him back? Wander in to the room he's in next time you've got one ready. We have two rules in this house.

  1. No farting on someone.
  2. No wafting the covers after farting.

Other than that it's fair game. Smile

fortyplus · 18/10/2013 23:42

Supergeek one of my school friends used to eat packets and packets of Rowntrees fruit gums then burp in people's faces. Didn't smell of vomit but was cloying sickly-sweet fruity smell that still lingers 35 years later!

ArwenStardust · 18/10/2013 23:45

According to NHS website "some people pass wind only a few times a day, others a lot more, but the average is said to be 15 times a dayShock

I can recommend Neutradol room spray/air freshener (disabled doubly incontinent DH Sad).

Farting noises do make me Grin -could do without the smell though [bleugh emoticon]

CrabbySmallerBottom · 18/10/2013 23:45

YANBU at all OP.

I don't want to smell anyone's farts, family or not. Keep your fucking arse closed until you're out of my vicinity. Revolting.

ClaudiaWinklepants · 18/10/2013 23:47

"Farts are the souls of shits". I have woken the cat up laughing at this little corker Grin

crunchybargalore · 18/10/2013 23:47

Y a b so u.

Think about women who have suffered birth injuries and so have little or no control.

AlexReidsLonelyBraincell · 18/10/2013 23:48

Oh yes, I am one big tattoo. And my sons are named Jeremy and Kyle after my fave telly star.
