Brought some boots from BHS 4 weeks ago and the heels are very worn, one end has come off. Only wear them for about half hour at a time as do not wear shoes where I work.

AIBU to take them back and complain, they were £35.

Take them back. Not fit for purpose. Boots are supposed to be worn. Not supposed to wear out in a month.

I took dd1's school shoes back this week. £42 from Clarks and in a month she's worn a hole in them. She does roll over on her feet meaning the side hits pavement more than in an average person Grin but still shoes should be tougher than that. She was walking along surburban pavements not hiking in the Andes.

Even cheap boots should last longer than that, unless you walk 10 miles a day in them. I expect about 2500 miles or more out of a £70 pair of boots, so it's fair to expect 1000 out of a £35 pair, even if they were the sort that needed re-heeling and soling to achieve that..

Only walk to the school in them (about 5 minutes) any further and I use my trainers.

Will return them then, just need to find proof of purchase.
