Placed an order and was given an estimated time of 30-45 mins. I called back after an HOUR, and was told my order had just left ten minutes ago (I live a 5 min walk from the takeaway, probably less than 1 min by car) and would be with me asap. I called again after another 20 mins and asked where the hell our food is! They've said it was delayed because he forgot to put a pizza in - I said we haven't ordered pizza!! I asked him to confirm what my order is as I'm concerned there's a mix up somewhere, but he couldn't tell me my order because the slip is apparently out with the driver for delivery! That was 15 minutes ago.

I'm raging.

DD has already fallen asleep on the couch and woken up crying as she's hungry! I've offered to make her something to eat but she's adamant that she wants her food from the takeway.

1 hour and 45 mins and still not bloody here!!

This thread is bizarre.

Why would you go and collect a take away when they can deliver it for you? If you're going to do that you might as well cook.

AllDirections · 18/10/2013 22:35

When we called and gave the address they just said "your usual?".

You need to give them your address? Shock

I'm so past having to do that Grin Grin

Abbierhodes · 18/10/2013 22:47

Is anyone else getting an advert for Just Eat at the top of this thread? Brilliant!

Lamu · 18/10/2013 22:54
Envy

I want a take away curry, but I live in the arse end of nowhere and no one delivers here. Arghhhhh!!!

iloveny001 · 18/10/2013 23:27

I ordered an Indian last night and they forgot my nan bread. :(

HardFacedCareeristBitchNigel · 18/10/2013 23:35

Why did you order so early anyway?

Are some people on drugs tonight ?? What on earth has the OPs preferred dining time got to do with it ? I do believe she is allowed to eat whenever the fuck she wants

BeScarefulWhatYouWitchFor · 18/10/2013 23:44

"When we called and gave the address they just said "your usual?".

You need to give them your address?

I'm so past having to do that"

We nearly got an order for someone in the next street once. The delivery woman had noticed the order had our house number and assumed it was for us Blush

YouTheCat · 18/10/2013 23:46

When we changed our usual order once the local pizza place called us to make sure it was right. Grin

ApplesinmyPocket · 18/10/2013 23:57

HugandRoll your summary of this completely barking thread made me Grin.

Such querulous questioning at poor OP! That'll larn her to have a bit of a rant on MN these days Wink

YouTheCat · 19/10/2013 00:00

Larn? Apples, are you a Northern type? Grin

TheBigJessie · 19/10/2013 00:53

Are some of you lot... on glue?

hug and Nigel covered everything else I would have said

reelingintheyears · 19/10/2013 01:13

WHERE IS MY FUCKING CHINESE?

Bastards.

Pobblewhohasnotoes · 19/10/2013 08:26

Our local takeaway got our order wrong. When we phoned to complain they told us they were too busy to send out the correct one. Didn't use them again.

TEErickOrTEEreat · 19/10/2013 08:31

You never order take away for your child?

That's a reason to call SS right there.

4 year old tucked into Korma and Birani and na'an and chapatti right along with us last night.

Gileswithachainsaw · 19/10/2013 08:56

Shock did he explode after?

Was it an early tea? Wink

PeteCampbellsRecedingHairline · 19/10/2013 08:59

Is it wrong that I could eat a Korma right now?

TEErickOrTEEreat · 19/10/2013 09:06

Well, 6pm, our regular tea time!

It's never wrong to eat a Korma. Halloween Grin

GinAndIt · 19/10/2013 09:09

I'm ordering a curry tonight for ds and me. From a takeaway I can see from my sitting room window. At around 6pm so it arrives while we're watching Strictly and then X Factor. I may even drink alcohol whilst consuming it - even though my child is in the house with me.

Stick that in your judgey pipe and smoke it.

MN is bonkers these days.

TEErickOrTEEreat · 19/10/2013 09:11

Gin smoke a cig in the garden as well and you win MN bingo.

Halloween Grin
GinAndIt · 19/10/2013 09:14

Will do Grin

And of course, the glass of wine I will imbibe will render me incapable of driving to A&E when ds succumbs to a heretofore unknown allergy to garlic naan.

TEErickOrTEEreat · 19/10/2013 09:18

Or even be able to ring for a taxi. Only the allergy will be to XFactor. Halloween Grin

FeckOffCupofBatBlood · 19/10/2013 10:47

Our local chinese at our old house knew DH's voice without even having to give a name or address Blush.

They shut down after we moved away.

ClayDavis · 19/10/2013 11:02

It's never wrong to eat a Korma.

In this case I think 2 wrongs do make a right. The wrongness of ordering a takeaway obviously cancels out the wrongness of eating a Korma.

snice · 19/10/2013 11:58

We used to get a Christmas card from our takeaway as we were such valued customers

sashh · 19/10/2013 12:01

I use Just Eat about once a fortnight. It is handy because you can rate the takeaways and so you can see which ones have been rated higher than others.

Which is why I didn't order from the Iranian place I wanted to try. Everyone saying how it took 2 hours+ to get the food.

So I ordered from my local and am about to have left overs for lunch - yum
