I don't know why but this phrase always makes me want to scream.

Maybe it's because I have friends (& family) who post it multiple times EVERY day

My cat is so cute. I am blessed :)

My food is so yummy, I am blessed :)

Ad infinitum

I know you have wonderful friends, family, cat, partner, food but seriously more than once a week and it gives me the FB rage!!

AIBU to hate this phrase on FB

Ohwhat

I am so sorry about your mum :(

The responses are supportive of your DN though, rather than because they knew your mum. I think it is just the modern equivalent of a sympathy card, which I would send to a friend even if I had never met their relative. I can understand why you would find it distasteful, tbh I would too, but I think its just how the world has evolved, sadly.

Next time I see "feeling so blessed!" on fb, I shall write:
"...Brian?!"

Of course, only viewers of a certain age (mine) will know who Brian Blessed is, but it will ruin their smug gushing to have to ask, "What?"

it appears everything ever that anyone writes on facebook is annoying

so perhaps best to avoid writing any statuses (statii ?) at all :o

Charliefarlie1192 · 17/10/2013 11:02

Hashtags on facebook annoy me the most, and pictures of peoples kids followed by #son #lovehim #myworld

Obviously you love him, why do you need a hashtag to prove this????!!!

Grrrrrr

Rubybrazilianwax · 17/10/2013 11:27

How anyone sticks facebook at all is beyond me. Seriously. Ok yes its a good way to keep in touch but at it seems to do is make people hate other people much more. Fellow parents, acquaintances, colleagues, everyone is perfectly fine in small doses of the short interactions we have with them daily, but add in facebook and we suddenly cant stand them.
Why do people stay on it??????

mistyshouse · 17/10/2013 16:14

i know ruby i always think that as well

i love my friends and family in RL situations, truly. but some of their facebook ramblings just make me cringe

and suspect they probably think same of me tbh :o

and charlie yes all the hashtags - why do people do them?? just why?? i don't Gerrit

dogsdieinhotcars · 17/10/2013 20:37

mistyshouse just read that huff post link, so bloody true! Yet more proof to get the feck off 'arsebook'! '

dogsdieinhotcars · 17/10/2013 20:38

Aren't hash tags twitter? Does that lead you to believe these twonks are putting the same drivel on both social sites? Sad, v v sad Sad

Right. I 'heart' Facebook. Not 'I less than 3' Facebook. With you now.
