David Icke

Hi

I saw a message was posted on here a couple of years ago: should we be scared of David Icke? by AustralianBarny. I think we should be very wary. Icke's now starting a global TV/radio show, called 'The People's Voice'. He says a lot of people are just computer software (no souls). He calls thinking for yourself 'robotic' - ie using the left brain - logic, reason, analysis (see the trick there?!) He also divides people up into Lions and Wolves (his followers and himself) and Sheep (everybody else). The Nazis did this (google it). It's well-known that 'New' Age philosophies are basically Nazi philosophies re-vamped. And this includes Icke's: 'Some people are evolving, some aren't'/ 'Raising the kundalini'/ 'opening the third eye'/ connecting to 'the force'. A lot of this is aimed at the young. The 'New' Age also spends a lot of time telling you the Nazis were really 'love in action' and that 'death is a wonderful thing.' Imo, it's the inversion of the pentagram. Orwellian: Freedom is Slavery, etc. (Evil is Love). Luciferianism. Getting chucked out of Eden was a 'blessing', according to the 'New' Age.

If you DO 'raise the kundalini'/'open your third eye', it's known the consequences can mimic those of paranoid schizophrenia - ie you hear voices telling you people 'have to die'. Read some 'New' Age luminaries - Hubbard, Spangler, etc. And Icke's earlier works. These 'voices' never tell you to just love people. It's always: 'a lot of people have to die.'

Basically: if you have teenagers/friends who start getting into this stuff, I'd keep an eye on them. Mention its downside, etc. Icke, imo, is NOT just a 'harmless nutter'. This ridicule's meant a lot of people don't look too closely into what he's actually SAYING. And he now has a lot of followers worldwide.

OP posts:
Dobbiesmum · 16/10/2013 06:57

And don't assume we're all thick either.
'New Age' isn't a belief system, it's a catch all phrase design to belittle certain beliefs through ignorance, I'm Pagan and know nobody who holds Nazi inspired beliefs. (Don't even start on the whole witchcraft and Hitler issue, and that is certainly one area where 'New Age' got there first...)
How much influence do you actually think he has? There has been a TV channel (Controversial TV I think ) going for a while that talks of PsyOps, Alien invasions etc. can you name the channel number without looking? Is it even still going? How dangerous is he really compared with people like Kirk Cameron and the ultra religious Christian right who feel it is their duty to actively bring about the second coming?
Way too much over thinking going on OP, grant some of us at least the intelligence to research the answers to questions our own children ask. That's part of what being a parent is.

JustBecauseICan · 16/10/2013 08:01

Bloody hell. David Icke is starting to look positively sane compared to some.....

JustBecauseICan · 16/10/2013 08:04

He was on a woo-y programme here in Italy the other week (which I watch because I am quite woo, without the insanity element) Think he was on about the illuminati. I was quite thrilled to see him really, was jumping up and down and going to dp "It's David Icke! He was a normal sports presenter then started levitating and saying the royals were lizards!"

noddyholder · 16/10/2013 08:09

He is crazy although chemtrails are not a conspiracy loads of airline staff verify that it does occur

Dobbiesmum · 16/10/2013 08:30

Oh and you specifically mention Kundalini? It's been a recogised a yoga practice since around the 15th a century. Hardly Nazi ideals, as I said, established beliefs corrupted by others into whatever they want. Charles Darwin's theories were also corrupted among others into the ideal of Racial Purity. It's not exactly a new thing to take one set of beliefs and change them into something else...

UriGHOULer · 16/10/2013 08:46

You're a conspiracy theory Conspiracy Theorist! Whoa!

LadyRainicorn · 16/10/2013 08:53

noddyholder airplanes do leave condensation trails inthe right atmospheric conditions but I'm not convinced that these trails are laced with mind altering chemicals. Disregarding the expense and effort needed, they don't seem to bloody work!

TheSporkforeatingkyriarchy · 16/10/2013 09:14

OP: There are hundreds if not thousands of beliefs, belief systems, and philosophies that are put under "New Age", you'll need to be more specific. While the co-opting and appropriation of Hindu practices and beliefs is problematic when done in this fashion, it certainly doesn't fall into Nazi beliefs. While some do, the generalization

Also, you seem to know very little about paranoia or schizophrenia. People with mental health conditions are far more likely to be harmed than to harm, most schizo-condition hallucinations have nothing to do with harm in any manner and those that do are usually harm and pain against themselves (most common are things like flashing lights and ringing that isn't there). And paranoia manifests about fearing others wanting to cause harm to you, not wanting to harm others. I have PTSD that includes paranoia and your portrayal is damaging.

Dobbiesmum · 16/10/2013 09:26

Thespork they have a weird attitude to MH issues on that site (as well as disaster, women, sexuality etc) if any members do have MH issues it's usually blamed on some kind of conspiracy, demon possession or brainwashing of some kind but if it's about a recent issue, something in the news for example sufferers get vilified.
I suspect the OP is a member of that forum who believes most if not all of it and is trying to 'spread the word' through issuing false warnings..

fluffyraggies · 16/10/2013 09:47
KnittingAndCleaning · 16/10/2013 10:16

I agree with Dobbiesmum, there are some very ignorant people who throw around MH comments.

What happened to being eccentric, why does someone have to be mentally ill if they behave in anyway unusual?

noddyholder · 16/10/2013 13:19

I agree knitting the blurred lines here between MH and eccentricity are horrible and ignorant

Sallyingforth · 16/10/2013 13:36

chemtrails are not a conspiracy loads of airline staff verify that it does occur
You are joking of course?

Dobbiesmum · 16/10/2013 14:13

The only ones who seems to talk about the chemtrail thing are the the same ones who use the word 'sheeple' and therefore lose all rights to be taken seriously...
In all seriousness, even the chemtrail theory isn't taken seriously by most conspiracy theorists..

noddyholder · 16/10/2013 14:14

All entitled to own opinions Smile

TheSporkforeatingkyriarchy · 16/10/2013 14:24

It's not a matter of opinion though - either they are purposefully pumping chemicals out to alter our minds and ruin our water and food supplies or they're not and it's just the natural condensation trail.

While some conspiracy theories have been proven true, the question for each of them is still whether or not they're true, having an opinion on them doesn't change what's going on/went on.

SunshineSuperNova · 16/10/2013 14:34

OP, give your head a shake love.

gamerchick · 16/10/2013 14:38

I think the OP is on a wind up tbh. I was reading a slagging off MN thread on another forum earlier that said we were ripe for a visit from the Lizard people.

Or maybe it's coincidence.

Sallyingforth · 16/10/2013 14:41

noddy of course you entitled to your opinion.

But planes would have to be built or modified to do the job, chemicals would have to be stored at airports and loaded into them, and pilots would have to operate the sprays - knowing that they would be dosing their own families underneath. Thousands of staff around the world would be involved in a vast and complex conspiracy, and yet no-one has ever leaked evidence to the press.

Don't you think that if governments wanted to drug us with chemicals it wouldn't be far simpler, efficient and reliable to just tip it in the water supply that we all drink?

exexpat · 16/10/2013 14:42

There is at least one regular poster on MN who regularly quotes David Icke's website, in all seriousness, as far as I can tell. But (s)he also seems to think the Daily Mail is a reliable news source, and sees conspiracies everywhere.

LuisSuarezTeeth · 16/10/2013 14:57

I used to think everything was a conspiracy, now I kno everyone is out to get me. Grin

LuisSuarezTeeth · 16/10/2013 14:57

Dobbiesmum · 16/10/2013 15:04

In the spirit of fairness I will admit to finding some of the stuff on the site very and genuinely interesting. people on there ask the questions that should be asked about some subjects and they have been proven right more than once about certain things that I'm really not going to bring up here. Problem is that it's buried under the strange stuff.
But a lot of it is horseshit. And I'm saying that after looking deeper into quite a lot of it!
Really not worrying about what my soon to be a teenager sees on this tv channel, if it ever actually happens, he asks the questions, we answer them.. Smile

TrueStory · 16/10/2013 15:06

I am wondering your motivation too, OP?

By the way, I do believe the Third Eye exists. I actually experienced it once, much to my personal surprise.
