I think I might be being UR

Basically DD has ASD & is statemented. We have a comments book.
Today it said she was having a good time in first lesson so didnt have her downtime then it mentioned there was an incident in second lesson.

AIBU to have written that the incident might have been avoided if she had downtime?

Or am I a grumpy, miserable, interfering parent who is reacting to feeling very unsupported?

Be honest... It's written now but I am lying awake worrying Hmm

(Has to be said that school stuff makes me anxious in a good day Confused)

But not in a pushover kind of way!

Seems completely reasonable to point out the connection between lack of downtime and the subsequent meltdown.

If you think you may be coming across as too critical (and therefore alienating staff) have you tried the 'shit sandwich'? (There is probably another phrase for it, but that's the most memorable...)

So -- one positive, constructive criticism, finish on a positive (bread: positive, shit: negative, bread: positive)

In this case -- So glad to hear DD had a great time in the lesson. However, it's really important that she has downtime as scheduled, or she may become upset, as happened on this day. I know everyone's been working really hard at keeping her engaged in lessons and I think this will help her keep on track.

It's so wearing at the moment - spent a LONG time last year getting a good working relationship nailed and then we have change of head, new teachers, TAs, etc and have to start again Confused

Of course not helped that I had to get head involved so early on and she dictates what's in the book... Some days it is too much tho I often annote it they never acknowledge what I have put...
