Sainsburys basics? They do a thin one, but no wings etc

Dontletthemgetyoudown · 02/10/2013 21:29

Natracare. I get mine on amazon or from waitrose. No gels or fragrance!

miffybun73 · 02/10/2013 21:29

Bodyform do non winged unscented ones.

All the Always ones are scented so that you get a vomit inducing smell of cheap air freshener and blood mixed together.

I bought the scented ones once by mistake and had to throw them away after using one.

shazbean · 02/10/2013 21:31

bodyform are alright..I just bought non winged by mistake, orange pack. They do the job no nasty fake itch inducing old lady perfume smell Grin.

Sparrowlegs248 · 02/10/2013 21:59

Thank you all. Just need to track the little devils down in this godforsaken backwater that i live in

I buy non scented, non winged always for DD. They do exist!

SpiritOfTheBuskersCat · 02/10/2013 22:03

didn't you know us laydeeeessss need to have freshly scented fannies? Wink

rattlemehearties · 02/10/2013 22:03

Boots own brand? I had to stop using Always despite using them loyally since my first period when they started making them all scented! Yuck. Yanbu - way too many to choose from!

EddieVeddersfoxymop · 02/10/2013 22:03

Home bargains. A great source of bodyform, kotex and some own brand towels. I've given up on Always, hate them with a passion as the itch is just unbearable!!

miffybun73 · 02/10/2013 22:03

Hi Nottalotta, do you have a Boots anywhere near you. You can order stuff online and have it delivered to any Boots store. Our local Boots is the size of an average front room in a house and I order loads on line and just pick it up there.

Otherwise I guess if you ever do online supermarket shopping you could do it that way.

DaleyBump · 02/10/2013 22:05

Have you considered a mooncup? I bought one after hearing good things but I've not had a chance to use it yet because I'm 32 weeks pregnant. It rings k bell that you can't get TSS with a mooncup but don't take my word for it.

PresidentServalan · 02/10/2013 22:05

Coop own, also most chemists seem to stock Kotex etc

dementedma · 02/10/2013 22:14

I prefer the winged ones - keeps them in place

BeScarefulWhatYouWitchFor · 02/10/2013 22:16

Wilkinsons do Bodyform and they're £1 a pack atm.

Lonecatwithkitten · 02/10/2013 22:17

Wings are helpful holding everything in place and catching side seepage. I like Lilets towels no fragrance have wings and the night time ones have extra flaps t the back to secure everything.

lessonsintightropes · 02/10/2013 22:18

Try having a look in your local corner shop - most of the ones round our way have only v basic 'feminine hygiene products' and they are pretty cheap too.

MmmmWhiteWine · 02/10/2013 22:19

Genuine question....what's wrong with wings? I think they always make things feel a bit more secure....

ghostonthecanvas · 02/10/2013 22:20

Always silk are unscented. Have wings though. I quite like wings. I feel like a fairy when I have wings. I thought that was why wings were added to towels. I also have a mooncup. It is a torturous device.

pointythings · 02/10/2013 22:50

I use the Tesco or Sainsbury basic ones - no scent in those. I don't mind the wings so much, they prevent the glue from sticking to my thatch as they neatly fold around my ancient huge 'I Am On My Period' pants. Grin

Always should just fuck off with their scented crap.

georgettemagritte · 02/10/2013 23:51

Boots stock Cottons pads which are unscented (I've found they're about the only ones I can use which my skin doesn't react to! They all seem to have chemicals in now, even the ones which are meant not to be scented.) Oh and occasionally I buy maternity pads which are the old-fashioned kind and don't have scent or chemicals in. The Boots thin maternity ones are the best ones.

InThisTogether · 03/10/2013 00:01

(sorry to be obstinate but I do prefer the scented ones, extra long, with wings!)

Each to their own though!

LayMizzRarb · 03/10/2013 00:12

I wish you could buy them with loops and belts, for use at night.

Sparrowlegs248 · 03/10/2013 06:46

I would LOVE to track some Kotex down!! I always used to use them but can't find them these days.

I don't like wings, they never seem to work properly and i end up with a bit sticking to me. I also don't like the scrunchy noise when i walk!! Never tried extra long - not seen the need.

I was put off the mooncup by the thread i saw on here once about someones cup smelling of rotting meat..... (and wondering how i'd manage at work? How do you empty and clean in work loos?)

meditrina · 03/10/2013 06:50

Try Poundshops for Kotex.

Any brand except Always (nearly whole range scented) as apart from them, the only scented ST is one type of Bodyform; or any own-brand.
