to very often clock the name of the poster, at the same time as reading the post?

Not always, obviously, but I am one of those mumsnetters who on the whole has noticed the name of who she is responding to. It is not something I do deliberately, it just seems to come naturally. Its like I see the whole post, including the top line, rather than just the bit below.

I find it hard to believe that others always, genuinely, don't notice who they are talking to, don't "miss" missing posters etc.

I read that and then thought not unreasonable to, not unreasonable not to. I then looked to see who I was replying to as I had not noticed.

MardyBra · 01/10/2013 18:50

I usually do.

I not sure whether this is a question of reasonableness though, mintyy.

I'm used to forums with avatars (don't hate, it's not net mums, I post on a band board and a body mod site) so I do struggle here to differentiate!

SwedishEdith · 01/10/2013 18:54

Yes, I usually notice the name. OTOH, I hardly ever recognise any of the "missing" posters.

NoelHeadbandz · 01/10/2013 18:54

For a long time I didn't. The site seemed so huge it took me an age to start to recognise names.

I had two arguments in the early days and vowed to never speak to them again. Within a week I'd forgotten who they were Hmm

I do clock the names now, but there's only two posters who I would actively not post on their threads.

Petty moi?
