To think if you pay £70 for passes you shouldn't have to pay extras ?

Went to a Holiday Site and paid the above for passes for 5 of us (2 adults , 2 children , would have been 3 adults but somebody had to pull out) , ,Passes are for entry to swimming pool, amusements, club house and dining areas . . Fair Do;s. However on top of that if the kids want to do archery , target shooting, aqua diving etc its extras . Considering we only ate out on site once , and went to one bar one night for karaoke and kids used them to get in the swimming pool Im a bit miffed about it . .

What was there to do in the clubhouse?

QuintessentialShadows · 28/09/2013 15:36

Calm down, you are not giving much information in your op. You have not said how long you stayed, what else is included, food, accommodation, drinks, swimming. You complain about the additional extras. It sounded like you had bought a day pass.

Rachel778 · 28/09/2013 15:36

I don't know lilola . . Perhaps Ill go netmums instead . Some on here are up themselves , some are uncouth, some are plain certifiable .. some are ok , yourself included , but its not the place I thought . . No wonder Amanda Holden found a lot like a vipers nest .

Already my favourite thread in ages.

lilola · 28/09/2013 15:37

Grin this has to be a pisstake

Trills · 28/09/2013 15:37

YABU to assume that the pass covers something that it doesn't.

Read the website/brochure/whatever. Pay attention.

HorryIsUpduffed · 28/09/2013 15:38

Oh you're really not allowed to call people cunts though.

TigOldBitties · 28/09/2013 15:38

Obvs someone who's had their fair share of Fruitshoots.

WMittens · 28/09/2013 15:39

Lesson learnt though as would rather save up for Butlins or somewhere I think in future .

Where, guess what, activities with additional equipment or instruction are at extra cost.

As said, £7pp is not extortionate. A trip to my local swimming pool is £4.50 on its own. I pay £80 a year for archery, and £500 to buy the bow and associated gear.

Tuon · 28/09/2013 15:39

YABU

When you haven' t got money to throw away it's even more important to check the deal before you hand over the cash.

Mittens, you naughty fucker. No need to fucking swear.

imnotwhoyouthinkiam · 28/09/2013 15:41

This threads weird Grin

I go to this holiday parks being well aware some stuff isn't included in the price, but then we've always holidayed at that kind of place.

(is holidayed even a word? It doesn't look right Confused )

WMittens · 28/09/2013 15:41

How lovely a Mother YOU must be .

I'm not a mother, although if I were I'd be a medical marvel.

imnotwhoyouthinkiam · 28/09/2013 15:42

This thread's weird even

WMittens · 28/09/2013 15:43

Mittens, you naughty fucker. No need to fucking swear.

Dang, I'm really flipping sorry, I got carried away on the peeping emotion of it all. Poot!

ChippingInNeedsSleepAndCoffee · 28/09/2013 15:43

I have never been to an all inclusive holiday park with passes. However, if I was going to go to one, I'd find out what the pass did and did not include, before I bought it. That's only common sense surely!! Why would you hand over money for something you have no idea about?

No idea why you think working out if something represents good value for money to me or not, means I have oodles of money?

It's not sneaky pricing - they tell you what the pass includes and of course they are 'optional extras' - you don't HAVE to do shooting or archery...??

£70, for 5 passes, for 2 days - £7 per day per person (well, more for adults, less for children I assume) is hardly extortionate is it?? It costs £5 pp to go swimming at our local pool!

HorryIsUpduffed · 28/09/2013 15:43

"holidayed" is a weird-looking word but since this isn't Pendants' Corner I think you're safe.

Actually it feels quite old-fashioned Grin

NameyMcChanger · 28/09/2013 15:44

YABU, tbh these holidays are usually pretty cheap, we never bother with the extras unless the dcs choose to pay for them with their spends.

Mind you, we were at Butlins one year when I spotted a dad dragging his grumbling kids past the fair, loudly exclaiming he'd paid enough for the holiday and it was too expensive.......I had to step in and tell them it was included in the price. Poor buggers, turned out it was their last day !

ChippingInNeedsSleepAndCoffee · 28/09/2013 15:44

How's your bridge coming along?

Tuon · 28/09/2013 15:45

ChippingInNeedsSleepAndCoffee · 28/09/2013 15:46

Namey - what a shame they missed out on it for all of those other days! :( I do not understand why people don't find out what is and isn't included when they buy a pass to somewhere.

ohmymimi · 28/09/2013 15:47

I'd just say this is a lesson learned, frustrating and annoying, but you will read the small print next time. Hope you were still able to enjoy your break.

imnotwhoyouthinkiam · 28/09/2013 15:47

Thanks horry it sounds like a word, but looks wrong!
