Dd 11 has been making her own bed since the summer. As she a was off school yesterday in bed I thought I'd make it all fresh for her when she got back tonight. It's a bunk bed she shares with ds 8, I PULLED OUT from the far side 14 books, 5 socks, 1 pyjama bottoms, 1 pair of pants, sweet wrappers, plastercine, fluff, and my precious I pad that's been missing for 3 weeks!

DC 5.11 makes his own bed but I hoover in there so know that there is a box of lego, a box of brio and an art folder.

JerseySpud · 25/09/2013 13:41

Under DD2s bed nothing

Under DD1's bed is all her toys in boxes plus most likely several pairs of socks

Jellybeanz1 · 25/09/2013 13:47

Wow - just fairy dust then! I better get on to Flylady and shift myself. I cant pull the bed out - this stuff was actually trapped against the wall - not even hitting the bottom. I've just done a big sock clear out so these smelly ones not welcome. Just delighted to have my I pad back. Smile

teenager son's bed- I don't know but I think its dead. it smells like it is but I am not checking unless I am fully armed and wearing protective clothing.

Other son - lego, feathers, lego, socks, lego, boxer shorts, lego, cuddly toys, lego, I'm sure there is other stuff but I can't see it for the lego.

VerySmallSqueak · 25/09/2013 13:52

Whenever I clear out under the beds I always seem to get half a refuse sack of detritus.
It always contains something that is mouldy,at least one dirty item of clothing, lots of paper,at least one felt tip with the lid off,and a couple of spiders.

Snap.

Editededition · 25/09/2013 14:27

Well I can state categorically that my teenage daughter had a hole in the space-time continuum under her bed, for about 7 years.
That is the ONLY explanation .....................

FriendlyLadybird · 25/09/2013 14:27

A lost civilisation. I'm going to get Time Team round here to excavate. I think they clean up afterwards too.

DS sleeps under his bed, so he has a mattress and bedding under it! (in my defence it is one of those fucking awful IKEA beds that had the canopy over the top, seemed like a good idea at the time but it just annoys the hell out of me now, plus he hates sleeping in the top bunk)

DD has several boxes of toys and boxes of ballet costumes under hers.

WestieMamma · 25/09/2013 14:33

DS's bed is completely clear as he's too little, although I have caught my husband trying to hide clutter under it a few times.

I dread to think what's under DD's. Last time I moved it was 5 years ago when she was 15. I had the fright of my life when I pulled out a mummified magpie. Bloody cat!

Andro · 25/09/2013 14:45

DD has built in drawers for her toys, no way for anything else to get under there.

DS has perfectly hoovered carpet and sometimes a jigsaw board capable of taking a 2000 piece puzzle.

TheOneWithTheHair · 25/09/2013 14:49

Ds1 has the teenage boy bed and I wouldn't dare look. I send dh sometimes

Dd has a desk and futon chairbed.

Ds2 has nothing but lovely carpet as he's only 4 and I'm still in charge of that one.

ouryve · 25/09/2013 14:51

They have bunks. We store DS2's nappy stash (they're delivered every 3 months) under the bottom bunk. There might be a few spiders and bits of lego there, too.

BarnYardCow · 25/09/2013 14:54

I am hoping just fluff, had a tidy the other day for all the lost socks, hope their is nothing yucky, as the windows are opened wide every day! Often bowls with welded on cereal under Dd1's bed, she is old enough to bring them down, the others don't eat upstairs yet!

DragonsAreReal · 25/09/2013 14:56

A huge long box for all their art stuff and drawing books. I know because I cleaned it out last night. If you asked yesterday it would of been books more books scrap paper books and socks.

SoldAtAuction · 25/09/2013 15:12

under bed storage boxes with out of season clothing, boots, skates, snow suits, mitts and toques, and that sort of stuff. I take my storage where I can get it!

BuskersCat · 25/09/2013 15:14

3 storage boxs 2 of toys and one with all her craft things in

TartanRug · 25/09/2013 15:16

Christ knows. I'm too scared to look.

internationallove985 · 25/09/2013 15:23

My D.D's bed is a devan bed so nothing would fit underneith, but the other night I thought I could hear a snake under my bed. Honest. I could hear this hissing sound. It seems funny now but I was terrified. I mean I love snakes but you don't expect to hear one in your bedroom. Anyway I looks under my bed and there was nothing there. God knows what the noise was. I slept with my bed room light on.

It's one thing children have over active imaginations but I'm 37 years of age. xx

Beastofburden · 25/09/2013 15:31

It used to be a very useful system because that is where DS1 used to hide things he didnt want me to know about, such as unauthorised sweet wrappers. I made sure he thought I had not found them, in case he found a better hiding place.

Down the sides of beds, though. Our beds go all the way donw so there's nothing underneath.

DS2 has several zillion cuddlies down the side of his, with books holding it all together, and sometimes the mattress slips half off the base from the pressure.

DD has endless random diaries, books and half eaten apples.

i reached the point where I would only remove something if it was glass and might cut them.

eddiemairswife · 25/09/2013 15:39

Under teenage sons' beds.........ancient apple cores, banana skins, odd socks and pants(their own). I once found a very old dish of apple pie and custard inside a drawer.

Pixel · 25/09/2013 17:10

Toys and dust. Possibly some spiders.

Pobblewhohasnotoes · 25/09/2013 17:18

Nothing under DS's cotbed. I fear spiders.

gordyslovesheep · 25/09/2013 17:20

knickers, mine and hers for some reason , sweet wrappers, cake wrappers, books, crisp wrappers, broken things and a cat - usually
