To be utterly addicted to AIBU??

I have an AIBU addiction. Can't keep away from it.

I find it fascinating reading about other people's lives, and seeing other people's opinions on things.

I justify it to myself by saying that it's good to learn about how people deal with the different challenges that life throws as us...

AIBU to be totally addicted? Any other addicts out there ready to 'fess up?

I'm a bit of an addict because i'm bored some of the time and AIBU is interesting.

Best part of Mumsnet!

thebody · 23/09/2013 15:05

oh yes definatly.

LateBear · 23/09/2013 15:26

Was just thinking of starting similar thread! Addicted!

GladitsnotJustMe · 23/09/2013 15:46

Maybe we should start a support group...

"I was supposed to be cleaning the house, but just needed one more fix of AIBU, then got sucked in to an hour long Bridezilla thread so had to quickly hide computer before DH arrived home..."

Come to think of it, there's a lack of Bridezilla-ness recently, I miss the wedding season!

Haha! Same here! It satisfies my curiousity and provides plenty of ideas for my book :-) the relationships board just breaks my heart and makes me cry.

Justforlaughs · 23/09/2013 18:30

I never use any other pages on mumsnet and while I used to be addicted to facebook, I now find that I don't have time for it! Grin

Crinkle77 · 23/09/2013 18:35

YANBU as I am addicted too and I am not even a parent.

reggiebean · 23/09/2013 18:40

YANBU. It is definitely the best section!

GladitsnotJustMe I have three weddings in the next month, I'll be sure to post any Bride-zilla upates Grin

LadyRabbit · 23/09/2013 19:07

Me too! It's fascinating, 10,000 times more interesting than any news site. You get news/opinion/feminism/economics/parenting etc. etc., all rolled into one and then condensed down to a simple yes or no answer based on unreasonableness.

It's the best. (As is Mumsnet.)

redshifter · 23/09/2013 19:17

I'm addicted too

GladitsnotJustMe · 23/09/2013 19:24

reggie I don't want to wish any unreasonable friends on you, but please do regale us if any Bridezillas do rear their heads!

Crinkle I'm not a parent either... can't think how I found Mumsnet but it's now one of my faves. Defo makes Facebook (i.e. the lives of people I actually know) look dull

Well, to keep you entertained in the meantime, I did have a poem asking for money in lieu of gifts on one of the invites (the wedding is in Australia, mind, so we're already flying there and spending a ridiculous amount on accommodation):

^The love of family and friends, bring happiness that never ends.
Each one of you as guests we'll treasure, you'll fill our day with so much pleasure! While wedding presents are so nice, your presence really will suffice. But if a gift is on your mind, your contribution would be kind. We have a honeymoon fund, please see below, each welcome gift will help it grow. But the greatest gift is that you'll say, you'd love to share our wedding day!"^

reggiebean · 23/09/2013 19:33

Whoops, formatting failure, sorry Blush

GladitsnotJustMe · 23/09/2013 21:34

Oh god, that's lovely!

You're spending a fortune on flying out to our wedding, how about giving us money so we can go on holiday too!

Please buy them a goat from Oxfam or something!

I had to take a break from mumsnet recently as my DH pointed out that I was addicted, and that I was boring him everyone with my hilarious stories of things I'd read on here. He was right too. YANBU.

reggiebean · 23/09/2013 21:50

Gladitsnotme That is a great idea!

ilovexmastime (I love the name, btw!) I read dp things all the time, he can't believe half of them are actually true!
