Added up what Im spending on cigarettes each week and it is nigh on £50 ,, what I could do with that extra money .

Are these e cigs any good ? The one's with liquid inside ? Im thinking of forking out for one and hope it helps me quit as that's an awful lot of money a week going out I feel .

The ones with liquid inside are better (and cheaper, eventually) than those with cartridges. I'm going back on them in October with a view to reducing the nicotine and stopping (I view this as no different to nicotine replacement therapy). In my local shop the e-cig costs about £15, some have offers where you get some liquid free (I got mine for £20 with three free bottles of liquid). They are easy to fill up (just screw off the mouth-tip and dribble it in) and you can buy extra batteries (about £7) and new tanks from about a fiver (they need replacing about every month/ six weeks). DP has switched to the ones with the 'juices'. He prefers them now. He says he can breathe properly again, taste food, smell and loads of other little things (I stopped listening. He's getting evangelical!!)

He's stopped using tobacco products entirely and plans to drop his nicotine levels down in the next few weeks.

My Son gave up using a liquid one and he was on nearly 30 a day . As for me my smoking has gone up to the extent my Dad is concerned for my future (He has empysema) health .. Dad gave up months ago with the help of a tablet and at least can walk bit further now and is putting bit of weight on which he could certainly do with gaining.

I gave up last year, using the ecigs. Gave up in January, stopped ecig in March. I had been smoking for thirty odd years and tried giving up on numerous occasions. Ecigs made it peasy.
(Now I'm sounding evangelical)!

Well Done Dawndonnaagain , Wow 30 years Ill defintely be buying one tomorrow .. Watermelon flavor is nice as my Son let me have a vap and was nice.

I've got the ego vision. The starter kit is £18 at safercigs, but you really need 2 batteries. I buy juice from smokshop and a 20ml bottle lasts 2 weeks. Much cheaper than smoking, you can do it indoors and theres no nasty smell. Good luck!!

My friends got a liquid one. I prefer it to fags. But i only smoke one a day so its a hefty investment for me to make, but im going to as they are looovely

Thank You Privilegeismine . I would also not smoke in cinemas. pubs , railways etc as Ive got used to not smoking cigarettes inside now so hopefully that will help as well .

I started on ecigs in January (the ego one) . and over the months have been reducing my nicotine intake as I make my own juices (very easy and significantly reduces the cost)
I estimate I spend no more than £20 a month on replacement heads, liquids etc, which is a huge reduction from the £200 a month habit. I feel like I have had a pay rise and my sense of smell , taste and breathing are much better.
Really like the fruit flavoured ones.

I got my Tornado Tank from Totally wicked e-liquid! I'm nearly a year cig free.

I get my liquid from e-liquid labs as the do l&b flavour!
Tornado tank charges for 1.5 hours and lasts more than a day.

Try the e cigs but failed but not the oil filled ones

I can't recommend e-cigs enough, seriously. You MUST try them. Me and my DH both gave up a year ago, and it was absolutely a piece of piss.

I started by using the rechargeable ones you buy from Tesco/ Asda (e-lites or similar) You don't have to buy cartridges again and again, you can buy e-liquid, and actually re-fill the cartridges! (I didn't know this at first). You use a screw, screw it in the hole at the end of the cartridge, pull off the white plastic bit, and drip the e-liquid into the cotton-wool type filling.

I've since gone on to buy a proper e-cig with a tank which you fill up.

Either way, you save FORTUNES, and just feel so much better, healthier, and don't smell anymore. Other advantages are that you can vape indoors in front of the telly, or in the loo at work/ on a plane etc.

You won't look back - just go for it.

Dp tried the over the counter basic e-cigs. They made him cough (although he was getting over pneumonia) and he went back to normal tobacco.

He's been on the juice ones now for just over a month. He says the urge to smoke a 'normal' cig is gone and at his last chest x-ray, docs commented on how much clearer his lungs were.

My DP just stopped using E-cigs. The ones with the liquid. And I stopped about 15 weeks ago (pg) using patches. Looking at how easy he has found it I wish I had stopped before I was pg using the Ecig!

He has been fag free for 7 weeks. I have spent about £60 so far on setting him up with tanks, battries and a wall charger plus his liquids. Bought an initial kit for £10 which had juice, a USB charger and the 'fag' in it for him to try and just added a bit as he's gone along. He has 3 battries now and about 5 catridges as they do need replacing every now and again.

Between us we are saving about £100 a week.

One hundred fucking pounds. Thats 5k a year. An awful lot of money. Not to mention the health benefits we are both enjoying.

And I am just on with redecorating my kitchen/diner. Technically we never smoked 'in' the house. Always at the back door. With the door open. But the amount of nicotene I have covered up is disgusting to be completely honest. We must have been letting the smoke blow back in and it must have been stuck to our clothes.

So glad I won't be bringing a baby back home to an ash tray!

Can I be a PITA and ask for recommendations for ecigs and good sites to buy from? I don't really want fruity things. The burny thing at the back of the throat will be my main thing I miss alongside the nicotine hit I think.

I want to swap to them. I'm just so bloody embarrassed that I still smoke

And what the fuck do I do when I don't smoke?? I'm going to have to do some housework or something.

I could definitely get evangelical about e-cigs! I have tried every possible means of stopping but I've done it with e-cigs and it was dead easy. Cheap, too, once you get over the initial outlay. I'm using refillable cartridges and you need at least 2 batteries. I much prefer them to roll-ups, my previous deadly habit. I'm no longer smelly, my skin is amazing.... I could go on

Forgot to say, is it just me noticing these threads more, or is there loads of e-cig threads lately? Not compllaining, just wondering!

I never thought my DH would stop but e-cigs have done the trick. He started off on e-lites but didn't find them strong enough. He now uses nicolites which a friend recommended and he has just stepped down from strong to medium, he is saving a fortune - now spends about £7 a week. I can't tell you how delighted I am. :)

I use the cartridges, my DH has the tank type, so the white bit on the cartridge comes off? Explain re the screw, from the white bit at the top? They just don't seem to last very long as it's constantly in my mouth

Pop the end of the cartridge off with a bobby pin and refill with liquid (leave it upside down on kitchen paper for a bit!)
