to think these families should have controlled their children

on the bus today there were 2 families, with 4 children of about 9 or 10. Throughout the 40 minute journey the children ran riot, dropping food, running up and down the aisle and the stairs, shouting and screaming, persistantly ringing the bells, bumping into passengers each time the bus lurched. The parents did nothing apart from conduct their very loud conversations. A lot of passengers were getting increasingly annoyed, i was more concerned about their safety should the bus stop or swerve suddenly. The parents should have asked their children to sit safely. I think was what also upset me was the fact they were travellers, which was evident from their loud conversations. A lot of passengers were tut tutting about "typical traveller behaviour". It was NOTHING to do with them being travellers, it was bad parenting, parents should teach their children consideration to others, regardless of their background. But this sort of behaviour doesnt help when travellers in our locality are trying so hard to integrate into the local community.....

Maybe the parents of the children didn't perceive their children to be behaving inappropriately.

I'm also surprised the driver didn't say anything, but I suppose he was in quite a difficult position, and didn't want a confrontation.
