Look at home accessories, bath sheets and clocks online. And take great pleasure in it? Grin

DH, ds and I have not long moved into our first house together (we lived with his family) and I just want to make it all pretty.

No that doesn't make you a sad person! It's quite exciting decorating your new home. I did the same as well. Go for itSmile

"Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time"

It makes you happy - why would that be sad?

I was totally the same when we moved in.

PipkinsPal · 22/09/2013 13:58

Do you have an Argos catalogue to while away the hours when you aren't online? I'm sad too and having nothing better to do than check prices of certain groceries on Tesco, Sainsburys and Asda websites to see if anything I want is on offer.

ChippingInNeedsSleepAndCoffee · 22/09/2013 13:58

That's not sad!!

That's lovely :) I wish you every happiness in your new home!

Are you familiar with Houzz & Achica??

pianodoodle · 22/09/2013 13:59

That isn't sad! Sometimes I sit on my mobile on Rightmove looking at pictures of manor houses I might like to live in Grin

At least you're actually going to buy the accessories!

MoveYourArmsLikeHenry · 22/09/2013 14:02

Thanks everyone. pipkinsargos and ikea catalogue are on standby for when I'm done online Grin

Yanbu! Enjoy shopping for lovely new things.
We had a massive pipe leak in our bathroom and sons room so Im constantly looking at new bathroom assessories to go in my shiney new bathroom (Thankfully we're fully insured!). New flooring, wall replastered etc, hall, stairs and landing redone do new pictures needed.
Son just wants the same colours in his room (boring!)
I never thought Id be excited about a shower curtain!

MoveYourArmsLikeHenry · 22/09/2013 15:38

skinny ooh new bathroom Grin yes shower curtains are very important! I'm currently looking at tea towels lol. DH thinks ice lost it Grin

That's okay, I enjoy looking online for ideas to decorate my study and nursery.

Both the study and baby are imaginary so far though as I live in a 1 bedroom flat and am not even TTC yet.

"Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time"

That's a bloody brilliant quote -- where's it from?

Oh and OP, YANBU

I agree with ImATot.

I also think our environment is incredibly important. We compromise constantly and making our homes lovely (by our own definition of lovely) can have a huge impact on how we feel.

Bedtime1 · 22/09/2013 17:17

Your not sad what a great way to spend your day!

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 22/09/2013 17:21

Sounds perfectly rational to me.

Good luck in your new home Flowers

Charity Its often, wrongly, attributed to John Lennon, although he said something similar.

Its from a man named Bertrand Russell, he won a nobel prize for literature in the fifties I think.
