To wish I hadn't upgraded my iPad to iOS 7?

I fecking hate it!

I know with most things it takes time to get used to a new look but I really think they've messed up this time. I don't think it adds anything. It's just so....flat.

I want iOS 6 back. ...Sad

You need to put your finger higher up on the screen when scrolling to avoid the control centre - it only comes up if you start your 'flick' below the screen itself

Thanks Rusty. :)

I'm so glad that I have not upgraded all the iphones, ipads and ipods in our household - I have seen others updates on their phones and heard all their comments and I think I will saty with ios6!!

You see, what's odd, is that when iOS 6 was released (you know, the great OS that people think Apple should stick with because iOS7 is rubbish) the Interwebs were full of people saying that they wouldn't be upgrading to iOS6 because iOS 5 was so much better. See, for example here. But that's odd, because iOS 5 was rubbish and there were lots of reasons to prefer iOS 4, see for example here. Oh, so people should stick it iOS 4? Well, perhaps not, because compared to iOS 3, 4 was rubbish too, see for example here. And so on, and so on.

iOS 6 did not look like a Fisher Price toy compared to iOS 5.

EduCated · 25/09/2013 12:06

There remained aspects of iOS 6 that I didn't like and felt weren't as good as in iOS 5. There were also bits I felt were much better, about like now.

It is quite possible for people to acknowledge and appreciate an update whilst identifying aspects that have lost some level of usability or which haven't necessarily improved.

Also it's all a bit of a moot point anyway. We pretty much have to upgrade, we'll all get used to it. Just because we got used to the crap bits of iOS 6, doesn't mean that they were good.

I updated my phone but have left my iPad as it was. Bit keen on the calendar now at all, hopefully it'll grow on me cos it's too late now!

First update of the update is out....

friday16 · 26/09/2013 23:02

First update of the update of the update, in fact: there's now a 7.0.2

RustyBear · 27/09/2013 07:21

Yes, should have said first one for my device- 7.0.2 is the one I've got, 7.0.1 was only for the iPhone 5c and 5s.
