and now it's 16:30 and no sign nor msg or the like... AIBU to slowly get a bit 'hmpf'? especially nowadays in the age of sms...

I know it's 'only' for a sleepover and we're not going anywhere, however, I might have planned stuff around arrival times?

Even dd is starting to comment on the time keeping despite me saying very calmly 'she'll get here when she gets here'... oh boy and that sounds like a double standard doesn't it... Blush though I think dd repeatedly asking is grinding me down as well...

so open to the forum... am I being unreasonable? :)

Call them?

Jaynebxl · 21/09/2013 07:32

Are you abroad, or did this take long time to post? Anyway I'd phone the parent and just check all is ok as you are waiting.

kukeslala · 21/09/2013 07:41

Unreasonable to be getting annoyed now if its the first time.

There may be a good reason for lateness and why they were unable to contact.

If there isn't then nope not unreasonable to be annoyed.

pudcat · 21/09/2013 07:45

Let's hope they have not had an accident.

Yonionekanobe · 21/09/2013 07:46

Looks like OP may be in Australia.

I'd be annoyed too - real emergencies aside it is sheer bad manners.

Fairy1303 · 21/09/2013 07:49

Can you text 'hi, just checking all is ok? Just shout if you need directions to the house'.

Prompts the fact that they are late, makes them get a wriggle on.

MrsBigD · 21/09/2013 07:54

yup in Australia :)
and did txt 'all ok' but no reply
and nope not the first time with that particular family. Usually about 30 mins but 1h+ is a tad stretching it, especially with dd eagerly awaiting arrival...

Australians are maddeningly late all the time laid back and they always act like there's no problem. DH is Aussie and his Mum is the WORST for this kind of thing. THey will get there...probably with some random comment like "Ooh we met a mate...got talking..."
