sounds good. Smile

But do keep a book of I.O.U.s too, to be cashed in once the baby is here. Every time you forgo a glass of wine, or a prawn curry, or runny brie, or whatever you are missing, pop it in the book - I owe me one prawn curry - and then when you are feeling in need of a treat, later on, out comes the book and you tear out the page and present it to dh . . .

nevergoogle · 20/09/2013 20:23

i owe me a whole heap of wine.

While I'm having actual wine tonight, I am trying to cut down in general so I have diet lemonade with Bottle Green pomegranate and elderberry cordial. Tastes like a sparkling rose without the alcohol after taste. Is yummy. Wish I'd discovered it when I was pregnant.

dietcokeandwine · 20/09/2013 20:29

Oh bless you. I was pregnant this time last year and tbh I felt so flipping dreadful I didn't actually miss wine, but for my other two pregnancies yes yes YES - a soft drink in a wine glass really helps you believe it is actual wine Grin

At least you can eat some crisps to go with it (I have proper wine tonight and have already scoffed two packets of some crisps to accompany it).

Also try elderflower presse in a wineglass...close your eyes and you might almost believe it's champagne Wink

WeAreEternal · 20/09/2013 20:30

I'm not pregnant but I do this, usually with cranberry, apple or grape juice.
Occasionally I have a tonic with ice, a wedge of lime and a slice of cucumber and I pretend it has gin in it.

AmandaPandtheNightmareMonsters · 20/09/2013 20:32

I like a tonic, in a proper heavy tumbler, with lots of lime and ice. Use posh tonic (Fever tree is good) and you almost don't miss the vodka/gin.

AmandaPandtheNightmareMonsters · 20/09/2013 20:32

Ha ha, cross post with Eternal

nevergoogle · 20/09/2013 20:34

Ha, I did that and my partner came home and nearly flipped at me thinking it was red wine!

He seemed to have forgot that I'm allergic to red wine.....

nevergoogle · 20/09/2013 20:54

oh FFS, now i feel sick again. i almost enjoyed myself for a moment there.

Wine

LondonInHighHeeledBoots · 20/09/2013 22:15

But no red wine head tomorrow Smile

Longtallsally I am banking that idea. that is inspired.

nevergoogle · 20/09/2013 22:19

LadyHarrietdeSpook · 20/09/2013 22:21

Try tonic water with lemon. I can trick my brain into thinking it's a g & t. Wish I'd known abt it when I was pregnant!
