To expect that when you goto the hairdresser with a picture of what you want your hair to look like, thats what is should look like!

I look like Princess Di from the eighties! I wanted Sharon Stone from 2013! Princes DI is not a good look an a 45 year old woman! Been there done that and got the t shirt 30 years ago! I am going to cover all of the mirrors with black cloth and wear a hat for the next 6 months!

Aww what a shame! But it'll soon grow.

I asked for a trim last time I went and came out with a completely different style. Very annoying but at least it's a change.

Some hairdressers seem to make a decision about what they're going to do very quickly. I sometimes get the impression that they do styles they personally like or that they have a particular aptitude for.

My sympathies - so annoying when you don't like your hair style.

put it in a pony tail and use a bun thingy it's the latest craze then you can let it grow secretly and then unveil after another hairdo !I think in all seriousness we should all look at the hairdresser to see what their hair is like before we have them anywhere near our hair. If they can't do their own hair well stands to reason they won't be able to do ours.Th hairdressers I know who's hair is like candyfloss !

If OP had a Princess Di 80s cut she's not going to be able to get it in a ponytail!

Go to another hairdresser and get a pixie cut.

Spooky that you mention Princess Di, as when I read the title I immediately thought of the scene where a client shows a pic of LD, & says "I want to look like that"!

Hairdressers HATE people taking in pictures.

I sort of get why because very often you'll have someone with thick, wiry hair take in a picture of a short, razor pixie cut. But it's the job of the hairdresser to say 'that won't work on your hair.'

If you're not happy you really must say so and get a refund. if you'd spent the same money on a coat and you got it home and it had a hole in it, you'd take it back wouldn't you?

I can see the funny side now, but I really dont get it - I took my ipad with a nice picture and she said ok that fine. That will teach me for spontaneous "I need a new hairstyle" decisions

I tried this once and came out with a mullet. Shock

I should have suspected as much when the hairdresser get looking at the picture whilst cutting the back, and the picture of the front.

Second hats, and a pony tail if long enough. I did turn all the mirrors round once when I was persuaded gold highlights would look good on me. They would have, but only if I was asking for money for certain services.

I would agree with that guiltyconscience but my hairdresser (who was recommended to me) looks like a dog's dinner yet I've been pleased with her work (as has my Mum who normally has bad hairdressing experiences). It just doesn't make sense; her work is good but her hair is bad Confused

I asked mine about a blunt fringe last time.

I swear to god, she then said 'I think it would make you look like a mushroom.'

Of course I totally love her for being honest - and now am NOT rocking a shitake fringe - but she could have phrased it slightly better.

Aye but there again, you see if they judge the person who does their hair as brilliant, it really shows them up for their standards iyswim. If their hair is bad and they thought their hairdresser is good then .........
