ds was christened & I didnt write in the invites not to bring gifts so I now have six of the same money boxes ect so would I bu to return some & put the money in his bank accout? Or should I put them away & give them to him when he is older?

Gosh I feel like a biatch even thinking/writing this!

I sent thankyou cards but would be mortified if people found out I returned their amazingly thoughtful gift but ds doesnt need 13 money boxes esp 6 the same :-(

I would return the duplicates and keep one. If one of the gift givers comes round, they will see 'their' money box on display. I really don't think anyone would be upset even if they knew - it's ridiculous to have six of the same (let alone 13 money boxes!).

I'd buy him another nice christening gift with the money, something with longevity like a framed print, or put the money away for the future as you suggest.

You are definitely not being a biatch Smile

Hmmmmmm, don't let the gifters know you are returning them...that would be bad manners. And if they see just the one in your house they will presume it is theirs. Although if you have 6 the same, they probably come from somewhere pretty generic and accessible as John Lewis. Who will take them all back and give you a credit note which you can then spend on something you do need.

I would return those I could and put the money away for him, having said thank you and made a note of the gifts. Any extra I couldn't return I would probably sell on eBay and put the money away.

But then, I'm a minimalist sort of person. One money box is plenty. Doesn't mean you don't appreciate the kind gesture and I doubt anyone would even notice anyway. DC rarely care about that sort of thing as it is. Cards I do keep though.

Ha ha, both my two are unchristened heathens and until yesterday had nary a money box between them! Oh to be in your position!
