I think you are expecting a bit much, but I don't know your children. It has been a long and exhausting week for my school's 5 year olds. To quote one of my nephews "I've run out of goodness". I've seen quite a bit of this missing "goodness" as they all walked home!

YoureBeingADick · 13/09/2013 20:00

you have my sympathy OP my two played merry hell today. all I needed was 3 minutes to give a quick on street interview and they had to stand beside me quietly. they are 8 and 4. did they stand quiety? did they fuck! 4 year old bolted up the street and 8 year old after him then kicked me when I brought him back! fuming is not the word. there have been stern words.

Branleuse · 13/09/2013 20:02

yabu. It was only ever going to be hideous

Sleepwhenidie · 13/09/2013 20:02

5-10 minutes, YANBU. 20? Straight after school and a no doubt sugary snack/drink (or is that just me Blush?) - YABVU

Friday afternoon at the end of the first week back? YAB deluded my dear!

I knew my 2YO was going to be an arsehole this week when I tried to go for coffee. She excelled herself. It's the triumph of hope over experience isn't it?

BlackeyedSusan · 13/09/2013 20:23

they should be able to sit for about 3 minutes and 5 minutes.
