to think that if you stand in the doorway of a Metro carriage then you should bloody well step off at popular stops to let people off!

Argh!'i take DS on the Metro to nursery / work 2 mornings a week and every bloody time i have to fight to get off at the main station. People seem to think that if they breathe in i can get past the 20 or so of them rammed into the tiny entrance. Twice this month I've very nearly missed my stop because everyone has headphones and can't hear my frantic shout of 'excuse me please"

Today i actually yelled (as politely as possible) can you all please just step off, let me and the other people off then get back on"

DS has a small buggy and he's too big for a sling before that's suggested... Rant over!

The metro is a bloody nightmare at busy times. And people are ignorant twats sometimes.

YANBU at all.

SavoyCabbage · 12/09/2013 12:39

They should "stand clear of the doors please".

I really just want to shout "fucking move you ignorant bastards" but my mother might find out and tell me off for not being ladylike

YANBU, but many don't step off as the bloody thing goes before everybody is back on. This happened to me and half a dozen others one day.
It's dangerous too for so many to be standing.
Not sure what the answer is tbh.
Have also had the train continue as not been able to get off.

People are idiots, unfortunately.

This week I was trailing in the wake of a schoolkid who insisted in being first off the train, first up the stairs, first to the barrier....then stood and blocked it whilst faffing around for ages with his pass. I'm afraid I swept him aside a bit, as I'd bothered to have my ticket ready in my hand and there were fifty million other people coming up behind me about to do the exact same thing.

Ignorant feckers drive me mad! Thankfully i only do 2 single journeys with him!

I've never understood the fascination of standing right at the doors of the metro. Often even when the metro clears a bit and seats become available they still stay glued to their spot by the doors! Also the glares and tuts you get if you much as invade a mm of their personal space as you squeeze past them.

All that being said, I do miss the metro! Have overheard some cracking conversations Grin.
