To be so embarrassed?

Total disaster of an afternoon/evening. I have an interview tomorrow and I need to do a presentation. So I got the kids him from school, had snacks and chat etc then set them up with a DVD so I could print off the cue cards.

But while I was faffing about with the printer, 'D'S decided not to watch the film, but to paint both of his legs, hip to toe in bright red nail varnish and then pour the remainder on the landing carpet!!!!!!! Gaaaaaah! To make matters worse he scooted off when he realised I was angry, and got it all up the stairs, smeared across his bedroom floor and on the banisters.

So I called DH to ask him to pick up some nail varnish remover on the way home, ranting and raving about how we should never have decorated the house with 'that boy' around. I then started to cry as it's just one thing after another with DS at the moment (earlier today I went for a wee - not a leisurely wee, a quick wee and came down to find 6 broken eggs on the decking where he decided he wanted to play bowling!) Anyway, when he got home DH told me that he had 'poor Jeff' in the van with him while I was having my melt down.

Why didn't he tell me someone was in the car?!!! I'm just so embarrassed. This bloke is our neighbours brother so he'll probably tell her about the crazy neighbour and her uncontrollable 3year old. Although she probably knows already...........Just insult to injury. FFS.

I need to sort out this presentation now :(

Have a wine, tea coffee or any choice of beverage and sit down for ten minutes. Good luck with the presentation and interview tomorrow and just remember you'll laugh about this in years to come .

I was thinking that as I was scrubbing the carpet - I suppose this is one of those funny stories!! N

oh my.. what a day youv had.

i say it calls for a glass of your favourite tipple and some cake.

your ds sounds like my youngest, i have had many a day with random.. grey hair indusing moments like that, but.. there is a plus side.. you have many a story to tell and embarsse him with when hes older.

my bb suggested writing his quarky antics down and making a little book full of his "adventures"

the egg thing, whilst anoying at the time..shows great imagination and i must admit that made me smile.. and the nail varnish made me thankfull to know im not the only one with a wild child lol.

Oops. Not so funny at the time I was going to say. I've manged to get most of it off of DS, his feet are still very pink, hopefully they'll have no reason to take his socks off at nursery tomorrow......

I don't know Jeff, but i can say with almost certainty that he won't give two hoots or probably tell anyone.

He will probably file it in the 'women' folder in his brain. Then forget all about it.

I would have wept too. I have done myself over similar stuff.

Good luck with presentation.

You poor thing, what a horrible day!! I would be extremely embarrassed too but the nail varnish thing.....what a pita! Good luck for tomorrow, I hope you get your cue cards printed and that you get the job!

The book of adventures is a good one! We've had some potty training beauties lately. Last week I went to call the dog in and when I came back in DS had peed in my jug of water for the ironing.....lucky I noticed! Ooh he's so naughty, but you're right, at least he's inventive with it.

Feeling better for my little rant now :)
