To be heartily sick of the Tap Tap Tapping going on..

Every weekend and now during the evenings until about 7.30-8pm next door have workmen arrive to do their renovations. No end in sight as yet.

Every night it's the same TAP TAP FUCKING TAP, BANG BANG SODDING DRILL...

It is really getting on my tits, I feel for them they are also fed up but ffs evenings are being disturbed by the head splitting noise from their workmen. I can barely hear the TV, we can hear it both up and downstairs there is no shed for us to hide in. We go out during the day on the weekend but AIBU to want to relax in the evenings?

Well, when my neighbours do a bit of DIY I think to myself, its kind of annoying but without doubt much more preferable to all night parties and neighbours screeching and generally being very silly in a loud way! Noise from neighbours is a pain though.

That's a difficult one, I'm a firm believer in live and let live but that would do my fecking nut in as well! Have you tried approaching them about it, nicely, not in a confrontational way at all? and explain what a serious impact it's having on your quality of life? You could always go round to theirs the next time it's happening and ask them to come back into your house with you to let them hear for themselves the impact it's having in your home. At the end of the day, they need to get the work done but perhaps you can reach an agreement/compromise where they will maybe not let the workmen go on later than say 7pm? x

YABU.It's annoying, yes.But people do need to make noise to get jobs done and it's only til 7.30/8!

I feel your pain! It feels like every time i have a rare day off work our NDN decides to have some really noisy work done!

Usually I just grin and bear it but I was mightily fucked off when 2 doors down had men v noisily working on their extension at 8.30am on Sunday!

They stop at 8pm? That's not so bad
