I have just nearly bust something internal out of sheer annoyance and anger.

Family due to go on holiday. DD needs waterproof clothes. I find some to order and DH says he will get them as he's off work. Great!

Arrive today with three days to go. Massive pressure for me at work. They don't fit. Wrong size. I ask DH what size he got and he starts saying that he got them in x size because I didnt tell him what size to get. I don't think I am the size oracle and he has the time to find out. He says that I didnt tell him when he rang to ask because I was busy. I am under massive stress at work just to make sure I can get all my stuff done before we go on holiday.

I confess I lost it at this point. Am I being unreasonable? Really, I feel a man with time should be able to do this better than a woman with work and toddler hanging off her leg.

Whereabouts are you going?
Can you buy some while you're away?

& get him to send them back & get a refund , silly sod

Why doesn't he know what size clothes his own child wears? I can understand an error in size conversion, ages to S/M/L etc, but if his entire excuse is "you didn't tell him what size" then he hasn't even tried!

Do you have an H&M or a TK Maxx near you? I've bought water proofs there very cheaply for DD before and they've lasted really well. Send your DH in to go hunting for some.

YANBU to think a man should be capable of looking at working it out.

However, hell will freeze over before the one here does.

He can't work out his own clothes, let alone DDs

Footface · 10/09/2013 14:31

Ask him if he wants a reminder to breath.

Fairy1303 · 10/09/2013 14:47

YANBU. This drives me crazy too. Honestly I don't trust DH to buy the right stuff. 9/10 he comes home with something wrong, be that size, colour etc, usually because he has decided to just get what he thinks best rather tan wat I've told him to get and then it is something completely wrong.

It's not how it should be, of course they should know their child's size but I've been you.
