to think that by the age of 32 you shouldn't be getting so drunk you throw up everywhere?

A friend got so drunk on cocktails last night she was throwing up everywhere.

It was embarrassing.

She isn't 18. She is 32 and IMO she should know her alcohol tolerance level.

AIBU to think there comes a point where you stop getting so paralytic that you can't take care of yourself?

Her husband has spent the day looking after her and their 1yo dd. Which is fine if she were actually ill but this is self inflicted. She would be moaning like mad if the boot was on the other foot and he had spent the day lying on the sofa hungover.

AIBU to think she needs to grow up?

I went to a 60th birthday party last week. It wasn't those in their 20's, 30's or 40's that were hammered! Just sayin'

Once at a wedding my mum had an allergic reaction to wine after two glasses and spent the entire day vomiting in a field. People kept coming up and saying 'oh dear, too much to drink, eh?' When actually she'd barely even finished the second glass. It was awful, but sometimes these things happen to even the most sensible people.

Find someone else to drink with.
I say this as someone who has been their for friends who have been pissed. I say this as someone who has also been pissed. And yes paraletic, falling over, puking, huge hang overs the next day.. I have never been embaressed by my drunk friends. The day I am embarressed to be in their company is the day I find new friends, and I truely hope that they feel the same.

The few times I have been completely shit faced, I have had hardly anything to drink, but I find myself in such a state. Others times I make a one woman attempt at drinking the pub dry and walk out looking and sounding sober. Alcohol is strange. You can never guess how much or little you are going to be affected.

Good post, ihearthe sounds.

Alcohol is very unpredictable. Especially in women who are smaller and have a different body chemistry to men. Hormone changes can make one glass seem like a bottle.

Well that's my excuse what I've found.

Oh I wondered why I was very a bit pissed at my pas when I thought I was controlled and even dank water in between.

Get a grip, people - occasionally going out and getting tipsy isn't a crime,

The point is that getting drunk to the point of vomiting is not "getting tipsy".

Agree with most other posters here: if its a rare occurrence fair enough, no one is perfect. But if you are doing it every time you go out it suggests that a) you have a problem knowing where to draw the line and b) you are not being respectful or considerate to your family.
