To record a greeting card

of my husband screaming and swearing at me?

On Sunday my husband drank 2 bottles of wine and fell asleep. I started watching a programme. Phone rang, dealt with the call, quick pop to the loo and returned to sofa. In this time, he'd woken up and changed the channel. I asked if my programme could be put back on - and then the shouting and screaming started. I grabbed my phone and started to record.

I just want to see his face when he opens the card and 10 secs of his abuse comes out.

I keep listening to it and will laugh or cry a river every time.

uumm, I could think of plenty worse things you could do with that recording but if that's what will make you smile then by all means, hope it isn't a regular occurence...

MrsTerryPratchett · 28/08/2013 01:34

He sounds abusive. Is this a regular thing? If so, what do you want to do about it?

thatisall · 28/08/2013 01:40

yeah this sounds like fun...not! Does he do this often??

Icelollycraving · 28/08/2013 01:51

Seems odd. Are you ok?

CharityFunDay · 28/08/2013 01:52

If the card in question is a 'bon voyage!' card, placed lovingly atop his packed belongings on the doorstep, then I thoroughly approve.

Gosh, not really something I'd find amusing, but if it's laugh or cry and helps you to get through...
Is your DH often abusive in this way? If so, do you not want to address this in a way that may improve the situation. Possibly cutting down on drinking may help - two bottles is quite excessive for one person in a night.

atosilis · 28/08/2013 07:02

He is getting worse, he can shout very easily.

What I might do is take the recording and make an appt with his doctor.

He's becoming more of a recluse yet doesn't like me going out. If I do anything off my own bat, apparently it's because I think he's worthless and doing it to upset him. He needs to hear the recording somehow but will be furious I recorded it.

I don't laugh with joy, more a 'it'll be fine, don't worry' laugh.
