C=Each to their own wink You're absolutely right. I've been a fan of some right old shite in my day Grin

candycoatedwaterdrops · 25/08/2013 13:56

I don't believe for a minute that they write they own songs. They may co-write them but we all know what that means. Like 'em if you want but great musicians they are not! Grin

Nancy66 · 25/08/2013 13:56

No, they don't write their own songs.

BelieveinWigan · 25/08/2013 13:57

Thank you cushtiw

So, one musician and no song writers. it's not looking too good on the talent front.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 25/08/2013 14:02

Sparklingbrook their talent is being good looking Grin. They are too young to do anything for me though. I'm sure I'd be a fan if I were 14.

ShellyBoobs · 25/08/2013 14:02

Advert for their film

Shock
Sparklingbrook · 25/08/2013 14:04

Ooh right. Well their career could be quite short lived then. Grin

Nancy66 · 25/08/2013 14:06

love the advert....

They'll get about three years out of it I'd say.

Sparklingbrook · 25/08/2013 14:08

the original and best

usualsuspect · 25/08/2013 14:10

I can understand the appeal to young girls, didn't we all have posters of someone on our bedroom walls back in the day.

usualsuspect · 25/08/2013 14:11

I mean plenty of girls I went to school with worshipped the Bay City Rollers.

I don't think talent had much to do with it.

Fairylea · 25/08/2013 14:12

I love one direction. I am 33 and my musical tastes vary... from biffy clyro to guns and roses to Calvin Harris and all the way back again.

Yeah it's cheesy pop but nothing wrong with cheesy pop.

Nancy66 · 25/08/2013 14:13

Sparkling - back in the day I would have scratched your eyes out for that....Spandau all the way.

Sparklingbrook · 25/08/2013 14:14

Nooo Nancy. SB didn't have the God that is John Taylor. Wink

usualsuspect · 25/08/2013 14:14

Cheesy pop has its place.

Nowt wrong with a good sing a long to a pop tune on the radio.

Kasterborous · 25/08/2013 14:15

No harm in liking them. You like who you like, each to their own and all that. I'm sure there are plenty of others out there who love them but won't admit to it.

Sparklingbrook · 25/08/2013 14:15

I currently have a girl crush on Ellie Goulding mind. Love her new single, and the video. And it's No1. Blush

Fillyjonk75 · 25/08/2013 14:17

I think they're nice looking likeable enough lads, their music is catchy and I would be probably really into them if I were 13. I don't see why they get so much criticism.

I'm not exactly all for the X-Factor hit factory either and am not keen on the show, but people think they're so fucking superior at times when they are disdainful about commercial music.

Nancy66 · 25/08/2013 14:18

Spandau had the Kemp brothers - two hunks for the price of one.

Fillyjonk75 · 25/08/2013 14:18

I mean I liked New Kids on the Block FFS when I was 13. They were fucking atrocious compared with One Direction.

RoastedCouchPotatoes · 25/08/2013 14:23

Not my personal taste but I think they sing well, have been to a live concert thanks to DD1 and they sing very well. They are good to their fans and I don't dislike them, and like some of their songs.

ShellyBoobs · 25/08/2013 14:30

...their music is catchy...

To be fair, though, it's not their music, is it?

usualsuspect · 25/08/2013 14:31

Well it doesn't really matter does it?

Plenty of 'credible' singers have songs written for them.

bishboschone · 25/08/2013 14:33

I think it's a bit weird if you find them attractive, they look like boys .
