NoNo! (think of the name) Look at the online reviews before you order one. The ones from people in the US Amazon site are helpful. Wink

MrsBW · 23/08/2013 13:04

Ooh... Watching with interest as I've often wondered if they're any good...

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 23/08/2013 13:06

there's a recent thread from a user who has had problems with it breaking down

You mean the 358 one star reviews so far? Grin

LadyMaryQuiteContrary · 23/08/2013 13:07

Have a think. What happens when something burns? What would it leave behind and what would it do to your skin??

LadyMaryQuiteContrary · 23/08/2013 13:09

Yup, that's the one SilverApples. It's called 'NoNo' for a reason! Grin

OverTheFieldsAndFarAway · 23/08/2013 13:10

I thought about getting one until I looked at the reviews. Not good at all.

CrazyCatLady13 · 23/08/2013 13:10

I bought one (from Boots not off the telly).

It took about an hour to do my legs, and needed doing about twice a week (the same as shaving).

I kept doing it for about 3 months hoping that I'd be able to do it less often, but then gave up. Worst thing I ever bought!

LayMizzRarb · 23/08/2013 13:16

If you buy one, get it from QVC, as you will be able to send it back for as refund when you realise how awful it is.

I sent mine back after 2 weeks. I wanted it for my upper lip especially. It really burns the sensitive skin there. It made my arms feel very stubbly. You have to go over the same area time and time again.

MillyStar · 23/08/2013 13:48

Thanks ladies will give them a wide berth then!!

Thanks you have all saved me too.

Laurier88 · 23/08/2013 17:20

Please don't waste your money! Bought one when they first came out & sounded like the best thing ever - they are seriously rubbish!

Booboostoo · 23/08/2013 17:22

I have an earlier version of this:
www.amazon.com/SN-008-All-Over-Removal-Handheld-Device/dp/B00859DIFM/ref=sr_1_4?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1377274697&sr=1-4&keywords=hair+removal+philips

and it actually works quite well, although you are not supposed to use it on your face (nor have I tried it on my face as you never know!). It works best with light skin and dark hairs and if you keep it up over time there is less re-growth (about 2/3rds of the hairs on my legs below the knees are gone and about 1/2 of the hairs in my armpits are gone). However it is too painful to use in the bikini area, at least for me!

LovesBeingOnHoliday · 23/08/2013 17:31

Don't forget you get long lasting results with continual use!

LadyMaryQuiteContrary · 23/08/2013 18:03

Is that after first and second degree burns, Loves?

KhloeKardashian · 23/08/2013 18:06

I had thought of buying one if I had some spare money one month, I won't bother now, they sound dreadful.

peppersaunt · 23/08/2013 18:07

The thing I've noticed about those ads on the telly is that although they offer you your money back they charge a ridiculous amount for postage, which is non-refundable

yegodsandlittlefishes · 23/08/2013 18:28

Thank from me, too, I've been wondering what they were like (but am unlikely to ever have a spare £100 for a glorified razor - definitely not for one that doesn't work!)

LadyMaryQuiteContrary · 23/08/2013 18:35

I have an epilator (one with an ice back that's supposed to cool your skin as you use it in order to make it less painful). It hurts like hell but does the job. You're better off getting one of these. Little tip though; make sure you use it when you've just got out of a hot bath. Your pores are open and it only hurts a tiny bit.
