Did you play tricks on your teachers that you would/ wouldn't admit to your DCs?

Not AIBU but I'm bored! When we were in school we used to play all sorts of pranks. I remember using diversion signs to send all the traffic from the main road through the school gates and out the other side. What did you do? And would you be mad if your DCs did the same thing now?

When I was at school the entire registration class locked the teacher out and put a chair under the handle after she went to do a message forgetting to take her keys, the door was only opened after the head teacher arrived and threatened everyone with suspension.

We locked the maths teacher in the store cupboard for the entire lesson.

The whole class hid in the history room sliding cupboards ( they were huge floor to ceiling full length of the room) we heard him come in. Go out. Come back in again muttering. When he left again we all piled out and sat in out desks to wait for him. Fucking classic Grin

We did exactly the same to our maths teacher. She cried. But she was always crying anyway.

Did we go to the same school?!

Quite nasty when I think about it, but we used to dunk items from the bin (apple cores pencil sharpening ) in unattended coffee!! As a teacher I only ever drank hot water in my class as a result!!

I didn't mean it to come across the way it did.
I was very fond of the majority of my teachers at school and have the greatest respect for teachers, its not a job I could do far too impatient with kids

But it was very difficult to have respect for a teacher who broke down in tears everytime someone talked in class.

Our Physics student would spend his lunch hour setting up experiments for us to do. We would walk in a turn off the power switch on the plug! EVERY lesson! He never learned! Bless him! He'd spend the next 1/2 hour trying to work out why it wouldn't work now Grin
Glad is wasn't just us!

Lj we had one of those as well.
When I did my teaching practice I remember thinking that I would deserve anything that the kids threw at me, but they were all really well behaved Confused

Everyone in our class mouthed. We were on a class trip, a hiking thing, so just us and her, and we all mouthed and looked confused when she couldn't seem to hear.

We hid a Bunsen burner in the teachers bag, cue lots of frothing about us stealing it and the punishment we would get when he found out who took it... when he finally opened his bag and revealed the Bunsen burner there was a great cry of disapproving 'ohhh sir, you're naughty'

We sent a young French conversation teacher to Coventry, nobody spoke for the entire lesson. I still feel ashamed of that now.

My favourite one was one of my brother's, who replaced the powdered milk in the staffroom with Smash potato mix. I think that was quite inspired!

My class tried doing that all the time but I always ruined it, there was never a chance of me being quiet for an entire lesson!

We had a dire RE teacher, who used to turn up in a different national costume every week - we used to all sit there with hands clasped in an attitude of prayer before she came in & refuse to participate in the lesson 'because we were praying'.

We were pretty headstrong & vile (late 1960's!)

When I was in Secondary we had this utterly useless Chemistry teacher. One day the whole my 6th form class just didn't turn up, and when she came to look for us in the 6th Form block we all hid in the toilets. It was the naughtiest thing I ever did and I remember the thrill of it.

However, we were all such good girls we felt ashamed and went and apologised to her that afternoon.

She was useless though

We used to have coughing fits in order around the room and take our jumpers off in order. Pretty lame, but none the less it flustered our elderly RS teacher.

In the first school my DH worked at there was a very inert Geography teacher who had a bookcase on each side of his room. There was a school competition to see how many books could be swapped over during the course of a lesson, the record being the entire bookcase there and back allegedly .

I think it's good if classes have enough cohesion and thinking skills to organise this stuff, a dying art methinks.

My whole class hid in the woods once on the way to PE .
Our school field was at the other side of the woods & their was this huge Den like thing the Teachers didn't know about as it was very well hidden they weren't half confused & spent over half n hour looking for us

We put the clock forward 20 minutes before our (very sweet and dippy) Maths teacher arrived so he let us go for lunch early. We were in deep shit next lesson though Grin
