To be grossed out by a chefs plaster in husbands food

My husband bought some Carribean chicken from a major supermarket. He is registered blind so ate the food but when I was washing out his plate I found a blue chefs plaster. Have phoned supermarket who have offered us a replacement but he understandably does not want another pack in case this is contaminated. I Googled chefs plaster in food and the Daily Mail had a story about a woman who had a similar experience but I do not want to go to the press as I feel she was only doing that for compensation. I am just grossed out by it and glad I am a vegetarian!

Oh no, that's horrible. I know they are blue so that you can see them in the food but that's for the chef to pick out and destroy the meal.

A replacement? No ta. How about some vouchers?

Unfortunately husband is blind so did not spot it and ate the lot! Thankfully the plaster did not go in his mouth but still ewww

I don't think I would want vouchers as have no intention of shopping there again. Phoned customer care and they were not too interested

Sorry, yes, I did read that your DH was blind, I meant for someone to see it when it was being prepared.

I would sent an email to Head Office I think.

Was it Tesco? I can quite believe it if so - they don't give a toss.

I'd go to head office.

They should have offered a refund but unfortunately plasters and the likes will occasionally fall off and not be noticed, that is why they are blue so it is noticed if not duong production then before it is eaten.

I think to never shop there because of one incident seems a slight over reaction.
