Stickers on the rear window

I keep seeing cars pootling along with their rear window covered in stickers. AIBU to think it's a really bad idea to block your visibility on purpose? A couple of them have done some weird things (slowing down very suddenly etc) making me think they had no idea we were behind them.

So if you were driving a big articulated lorry with a container dragging behind and total rear obscurrance, do you think your wing mirrors would suffice?

Think about it.

cookielove · 21/08/2013 20:32

Erm I can see where your coming from but there a lots of vehicles that have limites rear vision such as vans and lorries.

People can of course use their mirrors :)

Edendance · 21/08/2013 20:38

Usually vehicles with no rear window have extra mirrors or differently shaped windows to help their rear visibility, you're not being unreasonable- I hate it if I have to drive with no view behind

Vans and lorries know that they have to rely on their wing mirrors. The bunch of car drivers I have seen with stickers etc were not driving defensively, they didn't appear to think they required being able to see what's behind them.

I agree OP- saw a sticker last week that said "smile- your mom chose life" Hmm no need for that sort of shite at all- down with all car stickers I say Grin

Squeegle · 21/08/2013 21:01

They're just a bit naff- never mind the danger element.

StElmo · 21/08/2013 21:14

They're stupid whether they're dangerous or not. I particularly hate the 'baby on board' ones, it's as though they think other drivers think 'hmm, I saw your brake lights but I'm going to ram into your back end anyway, oh, wait-you have a child? Okay, I won't drive into you after all'

Squeegle · 21/08/2013 21:30

I hate the fake cutesiness like " this car runs on fairy dust" as if it wasn't a big dirty machine burning fossil fuels!

2rebecca · 21/08/2013 21:37

They're a warning to other drivers that the driver ahead is an airheaded moron who is more into cutesy stickers than safe driving.

onedogandababy · 21/08/2013 21:40

squeegle I want one that says 'this vehicle runs on heavy oil' Smile

Squeegle · 21/08/2013 21:47

Ha ha 2reb and onedog
The other thing I always find strange is when people attach cuddly toys to the front of vehicles. Why do they do that? The poor teddies get all dirty and bedraggled!
