To think that as the word 'partial' is an adjective you can't 'care for one?' (Lighthearted)

I am being driven nuts by the advert about dentures, or as they seem to like calling them 'partials'.
What the F* is a 'partial' and why can't they just say dentures or 'partial denture' if they must?
I have even looked the word up in the bloody dictionary to make sure I am not going mad and no, it is definitely an adjective not a noun.

Rant over

Of course it is, atm.

10 years from now or sooner it will be in oed and scrabble.

I take it you're not partial to misuse of language?

No sympathy. It's obviously the common name for the product. Like when opticians say 'bifocals' meaning 'bifocal spectacles'.

Calling food a takeaway. Is that allowed?
