I know it's probably naff, but I love fancy dress and at the moment post-baby I'm far too fat to contemplate it!

I've got my 4 month-old baby a lovely dress, headband and shoes for an upcoming wedding, which makes her look like a little fairy. Is it wrong to go the whole hog and get her some beautiful (far too pricey) wings and then do a photo shoot?!

(Caveat - she is my PFB, so it's still all new and exciting!) Grin

I you can afford it then why not? It's not doing anyone any harm. A bit pointless but not harmful!

Madeyemoodysmum · 18/08/2013 22:04

Go for it, who cares, she will look lovely.

RobinSparkles · 18/08/2013 22:07

If she's 4 months old I'm guessing that she can't sit up yet? Therefore you wouldn't be able to see wings if she spends most of the time on her back.

Yanbu if its for a special occasion and a bit of fun.

After four boys in have delighted in dressing my dd up in lovely outfits, one included a lovely tutu, funky tights and top and fairy wings! Grin

you can buy bog standard wings in morrisons, why would you want custom made ones Confused?

MagratOfStolat · 18/08/2013 22:09

It's almost ritual to be honest - I've got a photoshoot of my DS at 9 months old. He's dressed as one of Santa's Elves and he looked so cute he actually won a local cute-baby contest.

I think it's a fab idea and if I ever have a girl I'll be doing the same Grin

NeoMaxiZoomDweebie · 18/08/2013 22:10

Slenderman because they're prettier...duh!

pictish · 18/08/2013 22:10

Oh go for it! Fairy wings have a squeeeeee factor of a million!

NeoMaxiZoomDweebie · 18/08/2013 22:10

AND your use of the term "bog standard" should answer your own question! Who wants a bog standard baby fairy?? Shock

pictish · 18/08/2013 22:11

Dlenderman - because the custom made jobs are so much nicer!

Novia · 18/08/2013 22:11

Robinsparkles - you'd see when if she's on her tummy! I'm sure the photographer would have some ideas too on angles.

They are really pretty - made out of translucent, iridescent film so they look a bit like dragonfly wings, but sort of tattered...!

Dillydollydaydream · 18/08/2013 22:13

Yabu not to post a link so I can see the wings in question, dd I would love some. Grin

5madthings · 18/08/2013 22:13

Yes yes link please!

Novia · 18/08/2013 22:16

Neo - love you for your 'bog standard' response! Grin

Pictish - Apologies for the long-link but I'm on the ap - these are the ones though - but should be cheaper as smaller for a baby!)

I think you have to do it really. Until they can actually remove their clothes and put on new ones they are basically dollies for their parent's entertainment. Until they are old enough to use a kettle, its pretty much their purpose, right? Y would be VVVVVVU not to post a picture of the resulting fairy baby.

Novia · 18/08/2013 22:17

Anyone know how to hyperlink that?!

NeoMaxiZoomDweebie · 18/08/2013 22:17

Novia · 18/08/2013 22:19

I've got a pic of baby in her outfit too! Let me see if I can add to my profile and you can tell me if you think it'll work! Grin

YY I approve muchly!

RobinSparkles · 18/08/2013 22:20

Ah, I get it. I'm imagining this type of thing. It'll be cute :)

AKissIsNotAContract · 18/08/2013 22:20

They are rather pricey! I'm sure you could find nicer ones for less.

Nishky · 18/08/2013 22:21

Not unreasonable until I saw the price.

SIXTY QUID. if you have that money to spare then perhaps a charitable donation
