To buy a pair of customised fairy wings on Etsy for my baby?

I know it's probably naff, but I love fancy dress and at the moment post-baby I'm far too fat to contemplate it!

I've got my 4 month-old baby a lovely dress, headband and shoes for an upcoming wedding, which makes her look like a little fairy. Is it wrong to go the whole hog and get her some beautiful (far too pricey) wings and then do a photo shoot?!

(Caveat - she is my PFB, so it's still all new and exciting!) Grin

you could easily make that yourself with a metal coat hanger and some freezer bags Grin

sureitis · 18/08/2013 22:22

Aaww! They're lovely. But very expensive Shock

AKissIsNotAContract · 18/08/2013 22:24

They have some here for a couple of quid.

Novia · 18/08/2013 22:25

I know - they are expensive... But they are so pretty! And I'm justifying it by saying its not as if I buy myself any clothes, etc any more! Smile

Open to suggestions if anyone can find nicer though! I don't like the hen-party net-type ones, I want something a bit more 'real' looking. The price on the website is for adult ones too - baby ones should be cheaper...

I think you can better for less though.

waltermittymissus · 18/08/2013 22:29

I love the idea. And if you can afford it then go for it!

But, I don't really like those. Sorry Blush

I'm sure you could get gorgeous ones for that price. They look a bit weird!

SueDoku · 18/08/2013 22:31

She looks so sweet... Smile. But I'm not sure that wings would add a lot to her loveliness - maybe the cheaper ones that AKiss suggests, as she won't be able to wear them for long, and they are VERY expensive...

waltermittymissus · 18/08/2013 22:31

something like these perhaps

waltermittymissus · 18/08/2013 22:32

Oh she's a doll!

Novia · 18/08/2013 22:32

Had an email back - it would be a smaller and much cheaper version of these, which are a bit less tattered-looking and more fairy-like! :)

and they spelled it 'faery'. yeuchhhh

TheMagicKeyCanFuckOff · 18/08/2013 22:37

YANBU

I like these and this but also this which is similar t yours.

Novia · 18/08/2013 22:38

Ahh well - following general consensus I'll probably keep looking for something cheaper!

At 10pm (when I've been in bed browsing the Internet next to my sleeping(ish) baby for 2 hours already) some things seem a better idea than they will in the cold light of dawn!

Thanks guys!

Ridiculously expensive and quite hideous in my opinion. Sorry! (but this is AIBU where people speak their minds)

pictish · 18/08/2013 22:45

I love them, but I think they're too grown up for a baby.

How about something from this site?

WestieMamma · 18/08/2013 22:47

I got some from this company for my dog Blush. They are beautiful.

Novia · 18/08/2013 22:48

Ooh Pictish - they are lovely; nice and small too! Thanks! Grin

I Love them. i love the outfit. Do It!!!!

pictish · 18/08/2013 23:01

Oh the outfit is lovely!!

fuckinghatehim · 18/08/2013 23:08

Your dd is gorgeous, and if I could afford it I would get the wings :)

BlehPukeVomit · 18/08/2013 23:14

Your DD is super cute. Grin but the wings are a bit naff and really expensive. I would give them a miss..

.. however, as long as you have spare money then you should do what you want.

WestieMamma · 18/08/2013 23:18

Thanks WestieMamma - think we need to see a photo of that please?

I've managed to upload one but can't seem to make my profile public Blush
