I know this is a longshot but hopefully maybe its worth it.

I've been stuck in hospital with another pancreatitis episode. The usual tests haven't revealed a cause, definitely not alcohol or gallstones induced!

Aibu to ask Any mumsnetters out there who've had, can they suggest anything else? I'm getting really demoralised!!

Not had it but could it be something autoimmune causing inflammation in your body?

Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction. There are 3 types, Type 1 tends to be pain without alteration in liver function, type 2 is pain with elevated liver enzymes and type 3 is pain, elevated blood tests and a dilated duct shown on Mri.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sphincter_of_Oddi_dysfunction

Have a read on Wiki, it does mention episodes of Pancreatitis as a sign.

Thanks guys!

preferthedogtothekids thank you! That is something they thought of a long time ago but didn't check, it might be worth doing so!

You're welcome Smile I have had my own run-in with SOD. It was a bit ouchy at time.

Are you on any medication? Some drugs can cause it. So can abnormal calcium levels but this should have been checked as out of one of the tests to assess how severe the pancreatitis is. Have you got mumps? been bitten by a scorpion recently (presume not but don't know you're not in the UK!). Have you had an accident with a blow to the abdomen?

Pretty sure that covers most of the rest of the causes...
