Quote from Nationwide Bank about repeated calls they have been making 'We can't fix this, we are a bank not a telephone company, we can't stop phoning you'

That made me laugh! They can't stop phoning you? Do they have some sort of phone call compulsion? They must be able to stop calling you. Have you complained to their HQ?

kinkyfuckery · 16/08/2013 19:57

Are you a customer? Can you call them and 'update your telephone number'?

AgentZigzag · 16/08/2013 19:57

Grin at them wailing that they can't help phoning you.

So they've got no control over who telephones prospective customers on their behalf, in effect their representatives.

That sounds a bit out of control to me, not what you want from a bank.

I am a customer (though not for much longer) but that isn't why they are phoning me - they are trying to phone another customer and somehow have got my phone number on the records for that customer.
I have phoned, emailed and written to complain several times.

Grin

This is hilarious. Silly me for thinking that a company may actually be in charge of when they phone you. Clearly the phones have a life of their own.

Keep a note of the date and time of the calls and threaten to sue them for harassment.

And then sue them for harassment!

Spikeytree · 16/08/2013 20:04

I'm more worried they are telling you they are a bank. They send me enough reminders to vote for various things at the AGM, you think they'd know they are a building society. Smile

sparklingstars · 16/08/2013 20:11

I've disconnected the phone now; anybody who matters has my mobile number.
LOL at them saying they are a bank.

We switched the ringer to our landline off years ago because of all the cold callers.

update - i completed the complaint form on their website and have just had an email asking me to complete the complaint form on their website:

"Thank you for your message.

I am sorry to learn of the problem you've experienced.

We would really like to talk to you about your concerns and resolve the issues you are experiencing. Please can you therefore complete the following secure online form so this can be addressed:

portal.nationet.com/nationwide/forms/making-a-complaint.asp "

now phoning them to rant discuss it.
