I suppose MN is a free website so they use the advertising to make money. I prefer to have the adverts and not pay to use MN.

Pidj, it sounds as though the op is talking about words inside a thread that she hasn't linked are showing up as links... And that isn't normal.

I had that once, it's your pc, not Mumsnet. I can't remember how i got rid of it though, it was a while ago.

It is called text enhance malware and you need to erase it from your machine - it isn't on Mumsnet.

I think it means that some program or other has downloaded it self onto your PC, a virus scan might get rid of it, or if you look at the list of installed programs you might be able to spot it and un install
