For a laugh, take the opposite point of view and have fun :)

E.G. My daughter is clearly gifted and talented and her talents go way beyond all of those other children in the playground, she can read books way ahead of her age group and when I try to talk to the other parents about it they all treat me like a social pariah. I only want to know how my Arabella is getting on, especially as she is now a level 6 in maths and is only 5.

Are they being unreasonable in treating me that way?

IABU - I have had to cut numbers at my themed wedding and sadly had to uninvite some people I sent Save the Date cards to. I didnt want them to miss out and so invited them to help me decorate the venue the day before the wedding so I could spend some time with them and they could still be part of my glorious special day - but now one of my friends is now acting all huffy and offended, and even accused me of sniffing glue!

I asked my sister to get in touch with her to sort it out but theres no resolution, and I am depending on her for help so much!

katydid02 · 14/08/2013 10:45

Didactylos, she should value the way you are trying to include her in your special day even though you can no longer invite them. Are you sure YABU?

Well, Im sorry you feel that way Katydid, really I know Im not being unreasonable at all, and all the huns on Confetti agree with me - but the thread says it should be a reverse IABU!

shellbot · 14/08/2013 15:50

Well I had to resort to shouting, swearing and calling a woman a fat cow in the park the other day as she told my lovely harmless doggy to stop and tried to shoo it away from her son as it raced across the field towards him.

He was acting all scared even though my dog wouldn't hurt anyone. I told her that it was her fault if he was scared as obviously he can't be scared of MY dog. I don't believe in all this nonsense about people having fears about things. She asked me how she exactly she'd made one child scared but not her other son who likes dogs. I don't know why she expected me to know that so I had to tell her to Fuck off.

In deference to another thread ATM, I am the DH of a nosy woman who insists on getting into my shed/garage. I only have some items in there for DIY (sandpaper and so on). AIBU to lock her out and install security cameras?

BadgersNadgers · 14/08/2013 16:06

I think YANBU as long as you don't film yourself when you are using the sandpaper.

MrsTerryPratchett · 14/08/2013 16:09

I don't know why I shouldn't film myself sanding my knob. I make furniture and the knobs need a lot of sanding.

Katydid02 · 14/08/2013 18:21

I can't see how she can object, I mean if you have done some customer research and discovered that they prefer you to provide them with a smooth knob then what else are you supposed to do?
Shell, she should know that people take their dogs for a walk in the park and take her child to play somewhere else, either that or just let him sit in front of a computer all day.

Well why didnt she have her kid on its lead?

OliviaIsOffTheGinMumsnet · 14/08/2013 19:02

Please do not catch any baked goods that may have been thrown

AIBU - my PFB adult DS has been bringing his DS to see me every Sunday afternoon for 4 years, rain or shine. My DIL now wants to reduce my contact the cow bag AND she has been slagging me off on the internet to boot. I don't see why she should be expecting me to feed her when she turns up with them, it's not like I wanted her to come too!

VulvaVoom · 14/08/2013 20:55

Ooh err, this is all too complicated for me, time I went back to work I think!

ThePosterBelowMeSucks · 14/08/2013 21:49

Well my neighbour called the cops out to my house when I point blank refused to stop smoking weed at my OWN back door. It's MY garden and MY property, I own it! She's a bloody renter! She was all like "The smell comes in my house and I don't like my kids smelling it"

I said she could do with smelling it and chilling the fuck out. Her kids too all the bloody screaming they do all day. An hour later the fucking rozzers were outside.

Skanky grassin bitch.

Was IBU?

LimitedEditionLady · 14/08/2013 21:52

No the posterbelow obviously not.i think you know that though dont you?deep in your heart. If you ask me the cheeky cow should be putting to for your weed cos to be fair shes getting a bit outta it.

LimitedEditionLady · 14/08/2013 21:54

Anyway if she doesnt want the kids to smell it then she should just like take the kids out of the house, not hard is it.or dhe could just hold her nose or put a peg on it.duh.

BlackeyedSusan · 15/08/2013 00:14
