I'm assuming yes?

It has an attachment which I haven't opened.

OP posts:
Reality · 13/08/2013 19:23

It's from [email protected]

OP posts:
eurochick · 13/08/2013 19:24

Were you expecting it? Are you instructing Punch Robson solicitors?

It's not like any scam I have seen, but it doesn't mean it isn't one.

YouTheCat · 13/08/2013 19:24

Yes it is a scam.

They are looking into it apparently.

Reality · 13/08/2013 19:24

Nope.

NOt expected, and not a solicitors I've used.

OP posts:
Reality · 13/08/2013 19:26

That IS the correct number and email though.

No money's been taken.

OP posts:
eurochick · 13/08/2013 19:26

In that case I'd just delete it then.

farrowandbawl · 13/08/2013 19:26

Unless you are expecting Land Registry to take money out of your account - just delete it.

I doubt they would send that kind of info via email anyway, they would have called you or sent a letter asking for your bank details if something like this was genuine.

Reality · 13/08/2013 19:27

Where did you find that out, YoutheCat?

I've tried googling it but come up with nada.

Assume it's a scam especially as you are not expecting it and have not given anyone a "nominated account"

Biggest giveaways would be that it's not addressed to "Miss/Mrs Reality" and that it's an email when this kind of thing you'd expect in a letter.

You could always give PunCh Robson a call in the morning and double check/ alert them.

Don't click on the links!

YouTheCat · 13/08/2013 19:30

A friend on another forum had the same email sent to her. She did a bit of digging and found a number to call. They said they were looking into this scam and said not to open attachments.

Reality · 13/08/2013 19:30

Thank you thanks

The link I sent tells you a bit about it.

greenknight · 02/09/2013 19:18

Definitely a scam. Do not open it. This might prove useful:
