just to read, sleep, bathe and drink fine wines?

It'd be nice, wouldn't it?

Please can I join you? Sounds blissful.

Would be lovely, but won't be 24 hours, usually. Normally check-in is after 2 or 3pm, with checkout at 10 or 11am.

But hey, go for it! Grin

Ooh I thought about this today. Smile

Dh has got a week off from work next week. He doesn't want to go away anywhere though, he wants to spend the week pottering about doing jobs around the house. It's still a week off from his job for him.

Fine. I'll carry on with my domestic chores then shall I? I'll continue to cook, clean, do the food shop and keep the dc's amused shall I?

Bollocks to you mate. I may disappear to the nearest spa hotel. Hmm

I do this, well more bnb than boutique. I go for a couple of days. And I'm not fussy about the wines. If it has a pool or a beach I'm in!

God, soooo tempted. Hmm

My secret fantasy is a one bedrooms house. It has a beautiful lounge, it's very old, with a lovely big fireplace. All the soft furnishings are neutral/cream with a lot of snugly wool and chenille. There's a wood burner. Lots of good books, and magazines - stuff you'd read but not buy "luxury yacht USA" etc.
The fridge is very good. There's always a good white chilled and ready to go, plus a prosecco/champagne. There are good air dried meats, strong cheeses and interesting looking nibbles.
The sofa is deep, squashy and has several footstool options. It smells of clean linen.
The bathroom had a deep bath with Taos you can turn with your toes. There isn't a shower. This isn't a shower place.
The towels are good. Very good. And the robe is just a bit too big.
Outside the patio is nicely lit, even in winter. In summer the stone heats up in the sunshine. The sprinklers keep your feet cool. There's a very deeply padded lounger, with integral table. And a gentle garden swing.
Users must be women who meet the following criteria;

  1. a woman
  2. bit knackered.

That's it. No kids. No partners, husbands, parents or children allowed. Nope. Sorry. [ smile]

I have a fantasy of a one bedroom cottage with roses round the door and a bedroom in the eaves. It has a comfortable sitting kitchen dining area. It is quiet and peaceful and all mine. I wish.

Ilovemydog same here! My DH is on 'holiday' too, he is barely lifting a bloody finger; I'm supposed to be on holiday from work and I'm still getting up at 5.30 and having to do everything because otherwise it won't get done. After getting up for a third time tonight to see to the baby I'm finding it difficult not to punch him in the head. We went out the night before last, he's been nursing a hangover and because I was lucky enough to do the driving, I also got the privilege of doing everything today whilst being exhausted. My first night out in 8 months, no alcohol and I'm still regretting it :/. Came on here to take my mind off it whilst I wait for the baby to settle.

OP, do it! You deserve some R&R, the boutique hotel sounds lovely. In fact, make it 2 nights :).
