Today I was queuing for a pony ride with ds. The queue took about 20 mins and the sun was hot. The kids queueing were all under 5 and getting impatient, naturally. A few places in front of us was a woman with a boy between 12 and 18 months who, after having one go on the pony, passed her child back to grandma who was directly in front of us.

AIBU to think the woman was being really unfair by essentially allowing her son to skip the queue? Why are some people such selfish tools?

She was rude and unfair, but probably lower down on the 'Gah' scale.

I can't think he would have got that much from it at 12-18 months, but perhaps it was more about the mum/GP enjoying doing it with him?

Maybe they had a bit of a feud going where the mum was fucked off because the GP wanted to take her DS on first, and after a major bust up this was the compromise.

I'm not quite sure what you're describing. Do you mean the mother and grandmother queued separately so that the child could have two goes in quick succession?

If so, I guess that's technically not unfair, but it's not very nice and a bit OTT. I can't even imagine coming up with a scheme like that, it just seems a bit extreme to essentially plot an extra go in a way that will piss people off but isn't strictly queue jumping when a ride is busy and your child is so young.

Just wondered why mother wanted her PFB to have two rides in such quick succession. Yep, it seems a bit odd to me too. Was the GM just standing in the queue by herself?
