Does that make me selfish and sad?

I do not have compete with anyone else or anyone else's parenting skills.

I would like to add my Dc's do have friends over for tea and sleep overs I just prefer it to be us and that is what I am used to, so maybe I am?

YANBU, I know how you feel, I've somewhat enjoyed retreating into a little bubble with the DCs for the past couple of weeks.

I'm an introvert and got quite intimidated at all of the play date requests we were inundated with during the last few weeks of school.

We can have days when we stay in our pyjamas and get the shopping delivered. Grin

But my DCs are quite sociable so I do have to plan some holiday clubs, play dates etc into the holidays too.

I have had a really bad time of being intimated and bullied , we lived in a place where I could not breathe and my Dc's could not.

We have since moved and I just can not adapt to being back out there I do not want sympathy I just want to be with my Dc's and want to make the most of being happy.

Thank you for responding.

Belugagrad · 09/08/2013 21:52

Camping - just me and dd tomorrow- so excited!

Boreoff · 09/08/2013 21:54

Yanbu, it can all feel like such hard work to be around other people. I do make effort for the kids but totally get you.

I'm glad for you that you have moved and are no longer in that situation, must have been very hard on you.

glenthebattleostrich · 09/08/2013 21:55

YANBU. I spend the first day in ages with just me and DD. We did a music class, cut and stuck, played with playdough and played dress up. It was ace to just enjoy my 3 year old :)

Thank you Thebody and Squoodle ,I feel that my Pil are judging me and its just I don't need them like they need me and they can not deal with that.

So I feel that what I do with the Dc 's is being looked upon when the Dc's and I are together we bond and are enjoying ourselves and making up for the times we could not.

I am so glad it's not just me that feels like this! I love the school holidays as it means a break from all the false socialising on the school run and having to make small talk with people every day that I have little in common with

SuckAtRelationships · 09/08/2013 21:59

YANBU.... a night mare in my head but hey, it's what the individual enjoys. It's your holiday, enjoy it!!

bluebellsinthewood · 09/08/2013 22:02

Belugagrad I am so excited for you hope you have a lovely time.

We could not do that even in our garden because I could not sleep in a tent in our garden without fear that neighbors would do something bad, that is how bad it was, trust me when I say this.

Glenthebattle I think that is lovely that you took the time to tell me about you and your DD and I am glad that happy you enjoy being with her and had a lovely time.

Lukewarmbath I know how you feel I hate the school run I say hello and then I want to leave asap, I live for he holidays now so I can be with the Dc's and we can do what we want and we do not have to tell the world.

SuckAtRelatinships its a nightmare but I do now enjoy it, maybe one day it may be different only time will tell, but for now one day at a time, thanks for the kind words .
