AIBU to think they should just put me out of my misery?

Playing Risk.
Made a tactical error early on.
For over an hour I have been down to 3 countries and nobody will attack me as they are too busy waging petty border wars.

AIBU to think they should put me out of my misery and just attack me and kill me off so I can go and do something more interesting? I even offered a free freshly cooked poppadom to the person who wipes me out.

Bastards. Can't you attack them so they'll get fed up with the nusciance and wipe you out?

AgentZigzag · 09/08/2013 20:25

Take it as a compliment rather than torture, nobody wants to be the person who deals the death blow because they like you Grin

I have packet poppadoms and I'd do the deed for a freshly cooked one.

ImTooHecsyForYourParty · 09/08/2013 20:27

Is that a board game?

can't you just give one of the other players your cards and go and do something else?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 09/08/2013 20:28

Agent zigzag, do you really think so? Cos I'd be so much happier to be wiped out!

Two moves ago dh was very kind and knocked off another country. Im down to 2 men.

I managed to wipe out one of dhs pieces in my last attack.

YABU for playing Risk instead of doing something more interesting. Like defrosting your freezer or colour coding your knickers and towels.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 09/08/2013 20:29

hecsy, it is a game of world domination (or not).

Nobody quits in our family :(

Grin at Hecsy.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 09/08/2013 20:29

We once had a game that went on for 6 evenings. That was ok though cos I won.

AgentZigzag · 09/08/2013 20:30

Just have a strop and flip the board Grin

Ezza1 · 09/08/2013 20:30

What 40winks said ^

OhYouBadBadKitten · 09/08/2013 20:32

Grin I like that idea! (Remembers growing up fondly)

We set a time limit of 8:30 this evening. So one more pointless go and I escape until tomorrow night!

I love Risk but can't ever rope anyone into playing!!! I am envious!

YouTheCat · 09/08/2013 20:36

Get a cat. Mine regularly ruins monopoly/scrabble/any other board game.

I refuse to get Risk because I know dp would win every time. Grin

OhYouBadBadKitten · 09/08/2013 20:44

I have cats :)
One delicately sniffed the pieces another chased one of my dead men about the place. If the board had been on the floor it would have been wiped out. I'm hoping there will be a terrible accident with the board and a cat tonight. Board has been carefully placed on the exact route that one cat uses to get to the windowsill

I only love risk if I am winning.

Dd usually wins risk. I always win scrabble. Dh is best at monopoly.

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 09/08/2013 20:45

(And I wonder where dd gets her over competitiveness from)

OP posts:
YouTheCat · 09/08/2013 20:46

I win at scrabble and usually monopoly.

Though dd did beat me at Scrabble last week... by 1 bloody point.

Damn brainy teens. Hmm

OhYouBadBadKitten · 09/08/2013 20:53

I dread the day!

YABU to be playing Risk at all. The only worse game I've encountered is the War on Terror board game. I only have to play these days when my siblings and I are all visiting our mother - DH very sensibly refuses to get involved.

GrandPoohBah · 09/08/2013 20:58

I don't play DH at Scrabble, he has an average score of around 350. It just depresses me.

We play cribbage and Yahtzee. It's 60/40 to him in crib, 60/40 to me in dice. This I can live with.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 10/08/2013 15:07

I think I may have been saved from this evenings torture. One of our cats jumped onto it, carefully knocked down a few pieces then did a spectacular leap sending much of it flying. When she landed she looked round in astonishment at the result. Most of the infantry are now in some ocean or other.

This reminds me of wet summer holidays in the 1970s. My best friend was obsessed with Risk and we'd alternate between that and Monopoly. Some games lasted upwards of 3 weeks. Ah, memories!

pianodoodle · 10/08/2013 17:22

DH tried to get me to play risk. It seemed to take forever to set up and was boring as hell! I was glad when the dog walked through the middle of the board!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 10/08/2013 20:21

:(
We've started afresh.
